PLANETARIUM
• The planetarium has a shape of a sphere, 16.30 meters in diameter, the dome could also be used for extreme-wide-
projections and other enhanced multi-media shows.
• It has a seating capacity of 140 the digital theatre of Planetarium facilitates the observation of planets, moon, stars,
nebula, displayed on full dome through an advance technology and thus Astronomy Secrets will be shared with the
students and general public.
• High resolution projectors operated through Digester 3 technology with digital audio system.
• The dome-shaped ceiling gives a more realistic effect to your journey through space.
• Marine ply is used for the floor and is completely
covered with carpet. This leads to the absorption
of sound.
• Wood is used in the lower portion of the surface
of the planetarium. This helps in focusing the
sound waves towards the audience.
• There is a 1m service gap between the screen
and the welded steel shell, which is having
stainless steel as the outer most layer, then
comes mild steel and then comes glass wool.
This helps in sound insulation.
• Screen of the planetarium is an aluminum
perforated screen.
• Speakers are placed in the service gap just above
the screen. There are 5 speakers in total.
• Seating arrangement is epicentric and
unidirectional with a capacity of 140 persons.
• The tiltation of seats is different in each and
every row.

5.1 SOUND SYSTEM • Regarding music, the main goal of 5.1 surround sound is a
proper localization and equability of all acoustic sources for a
centered positioned audience. Therefore, ideally five
matched speakers should be used.
• five speakers of the same size for front, center and surround
• calls for 6 speakers: Center (C) in front of the listener, Left (L)
and Right (R) at angles of 60° on either side of the center,
and Left Surround (LS) and Right Surround (RS) at angles of
100–120°, plus a subwoofer whose position is not critical.
