represented by their caption and code numbers.

a) Refer to the above color codes, what database fields are required to design the database table?
Ans)
1)color_id (primary key)
2)color name

3) color code

b) Which data type will best suit to store the color name in the table?
1)Data types: _int_ (for color id)
2)_varchar_ (for color name)
3)_varchar_(for color codes)

c) If your database contains only one table, then what will be role of entity relationship diagram (ERD).
Ans)
The entity relationship data model has been around. Because it is quit abstract and easy to understand
and explain, it is ideally suited to data modelling for usage with database. Relationship models are easily
converted from ER models.

d) Discuss the importance of data validation in database?

Ans)Data validation is very crucial tool, it is vital to ensure the data is clean, correct and useful. Data
validation also restricts the server from processing malicious code so it can be saved from being hacked

 1 Person will be looking after administrative work.

Answer your question with pros and cons of each decision and also explain the reason of particular selection
for each question.

a) Which network (wired/wireless) would you prefer for the showroom?

Ans) Wired network would be much better for the company because they are more reliable and stable
than wireless network and the wired network system cannot be disturbed by other connections for
Page 3 of 8
example if you are using a wireless network that are close to one another, one signal could interfere with
another and this will compromise the stability of the network. Wired network are much faster than
wireless network and it isn’t weighed down by unnecessary traffic.
b) What will be the role of multimedia access control address in the network?
Ans) multimedia access control responsible for the transmission of data packet to and from the network
interference card, to and from another remote channel. it is also called hardware address. It provides
unique addressing identification and mechanism for networks to communicate with other nodes across
shared channel.
c) Is there any need of firewall? Discuss.
Ans) yes there is because firewall is the network security system that controls incoming and outgoing
network traffic. It also identifies the trusted and untrusted network. It only allows authorized networks to
access. If the firewall is properly implemented, it can scan known viruses. There is no more effective
security solution than firewall.

Question No. 03: [06 Marks]

a) What kind of E-commerce business model is adopted by Amazon.com? Explain the different business
models of with respect to customers and vendors with examples?
Ans) The business model adopted by the Amazon.com is called B2C (business-to-consumer). This type
of business model provides services from business to consumer no third party is involving in this type of
business model.
There are 4 types of business models
1) B2C (business-to-consumer): It is the most common type of business model. Ex amazon.com,
Walmart, bestbuy.com etc. in this business type the customer simply buys goods from the company
and the company will send it to customer directly without the involvement of third party
2) B2B (business-to-business): it is the business model in which one business provides goods and
services to other businesses, such as one involving a manufacturer and wholesaler, or a wholesaler
and a retailer. Example of B2B: Alibaba.com, global sources.com
3) C2C (consumer-to-consumer): in this business model consumer provides goods and services to other
consumers. In this type of business there is no need of a company a person at his own can sell his

b) Why the security is important in E-commerce? What are the security issues to be taken into account
while designing a security system for E-commerce?
Ans) Security for E-commerce is important for no of reasons, for example the e-commerce security is
important for online money transaction because if your customer feels that the online transaction on
your website is not secure they will move to other e-commerce site. It is also important to protect the
sensitive data of the customer. The e-commerce security minimizes the losses for customers and also for
the company as it prevents the business from the fraud and financial scam.
The issues that should be taken into account while designing an e-commerce security system are: cvv
verification which is the code written on the back of credit or debit card, having cvv verification on your
site makes it difficult for any fraudulent transaction to go undetected. Address verification is also
important, it ensures that the billing address is matching with the one on the file of credit card issuers,
use firewall, backup data system is also important for the security of the e-commerce website.
c) If you are at foreign country visit, which banking card would you prefer to keep with you during visit
(Debit Card or Credit Card)? Why?
I would prefer credit card, because most of the time foreign companies, hotels, shops do not accept the
foreign debit cards they only accept credit cards. The security level of credit card is much better because
in case of any fraudulent activity on your account the bank will refund you the money.

Question No. 04: [06 Marks]

a) How a biometric authentication system can be beneficial as compared to other authentication systems?
Biometric authentication system
Ans) because it is a less time consuming, for example fingerprint scan takes less time as compared to a
long digit code. It is also save, because a person can forget the password or swipe card and be stolen but
in biometric system we use our eyes, face, or finger that cannot be stolen or forget.
b) Discuss word processing? List down the concepts of word processing? Also differentiate the terms
formatting a document verses editing a document with some example?
Ans) Word processing refers to the activity of using a computer software to create, edit, formatting, save
and print a word document. example: MS word.
Concept of word processing: creating, editing, saving, printing documents. Copy pasting, moving and
deleting text within the document. Formatting text, such as font type, bolding etc. creating and editing
tables.
Editing a document: it refers to quick modification to the document using editing tools such as find and
replace spelling and grammar checkers, copy and paste option or redo and undo feature.
Formatting a document: It helps you in changing the appearance of the text in the document. Formatting
deals with how document appears on the screen. Formatting pays attention towards the spacing between
the lines, margin, fonts. It is also used in modifying the heading style etc.

c) When you type a word/sentence in the search bar of google, it guesses what you are typing and autofill
it. Is it the example of Artificial Intelligence? How Artificial Intelligence is affecting the world's
economy and society?
Artificial intelligence is branch of computer science that is concerned with the intelligence behavior of
machines. We encounter Ai in our daily lives from reading our e-mails to get music and movies
recommendation. Artificial intelligence makes it easier and faster for the users to locate and
communicate with friends and family and business associates. It makes lives easy it helps you in parking
your car Ai gives the power to car to see, think and learn which makes the driving easy. Ai plays role in
digital assistant technology, for example message dictation, alarm and timer, internet searches,
calculation. It has a great impact on economy as it leads to a strong increase in labor productivity. It will
affect the economy through the innovations. Business productivity will also increase because it not only
enables the workforce to perform their task more efficiently but also allows them to focus on higher
value added activities.

Question No. 05: [06 Marks]

a) There are an increasing number of cloud applications available. Which do you prefer to use for
university-related documents and why?
I would use google drive because it has great features such as automatic backup, restore ability of data in
case if the device is loss, collaborate or work with others on the same file at the same time, you can
access it anywhere and from any device, unlimited storage and most importantly it is free.
b) Which types of storage media would be appropriate for someone who needed to exchange large (5 MB
to 75 MB) files with another person? List at least three different types, stating why each might be the
most appropriate under specific conditions.

Flash drive usb: It has the storage capacity from 4GB to 2TB which is appropriate to exchange the 5MB
to 75MB file it is also easy to carry.
Optical discs: they have relatively large capacity and are durable. Used for backup purposes and for
storing and transporting music, files, photos etc.
External hard drive: they are used to transport large amount of data from one computer to another.
Portable external hard drives are easy to carry.

c) RAID is a method to create live backups of physical hard disks, but creating RAID will decrease the
usable capacity of the hard drive. Would you prefer to have backup at the cost of half of your disk
space? What type of RAID would be better for a home based computer setup that has frequent power
failures that could cause hard disk failures?

Yes, it is important to have a backup of your data in case of any loss.

I would use raid 1 which is also called disk mirroring. this type of raid will duplicate your data so in case
of any disk failure you will have your data stored.
