ORDER:

Whereas, the Electricity Act, 2003 (36 of 2003) came into force on the
th
10 June, 2003.

And whereas, the Central Electricity Authority (Measures relating to Safety


and Electric Supply) Regulations, 2010 (No.244 of 2010) came into force on the
24th September, 2010.

And whereas, the said Regulations require the State Government to


specify the following:-

(a) The periodicity of inspection and testing for the installations to be


inspected by the Electrical Inspector [under Regulations 30 (1) & 30
(2)];

(b) The capacity above which generating units, will be required to be


inspected by the Electrical Inspector before commissioning (under
Regulations 32);

(c) The connected Load and Voltage of supply above which inspection to
be carried out by the Electrical Inspector for multi-storied building of
more than fifteen meter in height (under Regulation 36); and .

(d) The voltage level above which the electric installations will be
required to be inspected by the Electrical Inspector before
commencement of supply or recommencement after shutdown for six
months and above (under Regulation 43).
The following Notification will be published in the Andhra Pradesh
Gazette.
NOTIFICATION

In exercise of its powers conferred by sub section (1) of section 162 of the
Electricity Act, 2003 read with Central Electricity Authority (Measures Relating to
Safety & Electric Supply) Regulations , 2010 and in supersession of the earlier
orders on the subject, the Governor of Andhra Pradesh hereby makes the
following order.

1. Short title and commencement : 1) This order may be called the


Andhra Pradesh Electrical Inspectorate (Measures relating to Safety
and Electric Supply) Order, 2011.
2) It shall come into force on the date of publication in the Official
Gazette.
2.(i) Periodical Inspection and Testing of Installations (under Regulation 30(1)
of the Central Electricity Authority (Measures Relating to Safety &
Electric Supply) Regulations, 2010
a) Installations exceeding 650V. - One year.
b) Installations exceeding 250V
but not exceeding 650V. - Three years.
c) Installations upto 250 V. - Five years.

(ii) Periodical Inspection and Testing of Installations (under Regulation 30(2)


of the Central Electricity Authority (Measures Relating to Safety &
Electric Supply) Regulations, 2010.

(i) Installations exceeding 650V - One year.

3. Capacity of Generating Station above which inspection to be carried out


(under Regulation 32 of the Central Electricity Authority (Measures
Relating to Safety & Electric Supply) Regulations, 2010) Generating
unit of capacity exceeding 10kilowatt, irrespective of the voltage.
4. Connected load and voltage of supply for a multistoried building of more
than fifteen meters in height above which inspection to be carried out
(under Regulation 36 of the Central Electricity Authority (Measures
Relating to Safety & Electric Supply) Regulations, 2010

Voltage of supply 250 Volts and above at the point of commencement


of supply irrespective of connected load.

5. Voltage above which inspection to be carried out (under Regulation 43 of


the Central Electricity Authority (Measures Relating to Safety & Electric
Supply) Regulations, 2010
Voltage exceeding 650 Volt.
