OBSERVATIONS IN GRADE 4
ONLINE CLASS
My cooperating teacher always sent me a google meet link
before my observation hours which is 8:00 in the morning and 1:00 in
the afternoon. I always enter the virtual room 15 mins before the
exact class time and leave after giving appreciation, deliberation, and
small conversation with the subject teacher. Before the class started,
the teacher greets and introduce me to the pupils as Ms. Kate a
student-teacher. I’ am so much glad that the pupils are happy and
full of energy greeted me.

During my observation, I have noticed that some students are

having difficulties in cooperating with the discussion due to
technicalities like can’t hear the teacher clearly, broken microphones
and, internet connectivity, but most of the pupils are actively
participating. One time, an EPP teacher allows me to participate in
her class by checking who got the correct answer in the recitation.
Pupils will be going to type the answer on the chatbox and then, I will
be going to announce who got it right. As my observation became more
frequent, I learned how to understand pupils’ diverse attitudes. How
the teacher can handle the excitements of the children, slow reading
tests your patience and appreciation makes your heart melt.

As the reality became nearly, I can say that this observation

journey brought me a lot of learnings that I can surely use in the
future. This activity motivates me to pursue teaching and be part of
our children’s foundation of learning.
