Dear children last week we read Stanza 1 of the poem, ‘ A House, A Home’. Now let’s read stanza 2 of the poem:

What is a home? Draw a picture of your house and colour it.

It’s loving and family

and doing for others.

It’s brothers and sisters

And fathers and mothers.

It’s unselfish acts

And kindly sharing

And showing your loved ones

you ’re always caring.

The words ‘house’ and ‘home’ do not mean the same. Bricks, cement , wood and glass make a house. It has
doors , windows, chimneys etc. whereas a home is made up of a beautiful family. A family consists of father,
mother, brothers and sisters. All members of the family are deeply attached to each other. They have love and
care for each other. They share their feelings with each other.
