Instrinsic
Title : Aku
Theme : Morality, The theme of Chairil Anwar's poem "Aku" is to
describe the tenacity and spirit of struggle to free oneself from
the shackles of colonialism, and the spirit of a person's life who
wants to always fight for his rights without harming others,
despite the many obstacles he faces.
Rhyme : Rhyme of the Aku poem is dominated by endings that read (i)
and (u). The rhythm seems straightforward and fast
because it uses short words and sentences.
Language : Language style is an arrangement of words that occurs because
of feelings that arise or live
in the writer's heart, which creates a certain feeling in the reader's
heart.
Tone : Formal style.
Mood : this poem there is an expression someone who wants freedom
from bondage, the poet does not want to imitate or reveal the
situation, but he react and have a great spirit and strong
determination. Everything is attitude of the poet's soul expression.
Attitude the soul in this poem is like "if it comes"time”, he
doesn't want to be tied down by anyone, everything that happens
he wants to let go as "me" Even if that someone is hurt, hurt it
will be carried away until it disappears as time goes by. He thinks
the pain will make him be strong and try to get up to reach his
goal, until he wants live much longer.
Alliteration : bisa, bawa, dan berlari.
Consonance : Aku ini binatang jalang
Dari kumpulannya terbuang
Figure of speech : Aku
Diction : “kalau sampai waktuku” dapat berarti “kalau aku mati,
“tak perlu
sedu sedan” artinya “ tak ada gunanya kesedihan itu”.
Extrinsic
Chairil Anwar was a well known Indonesian poet. He was born on July 26th,
1922 in Medan, North Sumatera. He was the only child from his parents. His father name
is Toeloes and his mother name is Saleha. His father has served as of Inderagiri, Riau.
While his mother was from Situjug, Limapuluh Kota. His mother still has family ties with
Sutan Syahrir, the first Prime Minister of Indonesia.
Eventhough he didn’t finish his school, he didn’t waste his time. He spend his
time to read by reading a lot of the works of International famous writers, such as
Archibald Macleish, Edgar du Perron, Hendrik Marsman, J.Slaurhoff, Rainer Maria Rike,
W.H. Auden. He also master several foreign languages such as Engish, Ducth and
German.
