Introduction
 MoCI initiated a study for the Gaps Matrix & Investment Opportunities for the
Industrial Sector to analyze all the industrial subsectors and to identify industrial
opportunities matrix for the sultanate of Oman.

 In 2020, Oman Refinery & Petrochemicals Company, ORPIC will begin to produce
basic plastics material's from its production facility in liwa, which forms part of its
Liwa Plastics Complex.

 Subsequent to the commissioning of the Liwa plant, the MoCI initiated the
development of plastics manufacturing opportunities and project profiles.

 The production of this commodity provides an opportunity to leverage the strengths

of the energy sector in order to develop linkages with the manufacturing sector.

 The study has identified potential sectors and projects profiles are designed to be
used by manufacturers and potential investors in developing business opportunities
for plastics industries.

 Based on the profiles, business plans were prepared for specific project
opportunities.
