TITLE OF THE PROJECT
A DETAILED STUDY ON IMPACT OF E-COMMERCE ON SUPPLY CHAIN
MANAGEMENT IN DELHI REGION WITH SPECIAL REERENCE TO FLIPKART

INTRODUCTION & OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY

INTRODUCTION
The rapid growth of e-commerce is being related to economic development and often been
cited as a driver of economic growth. E-commerce is also touted as a powerful medium
through which developing economies can exploit the potential of global markets. Today, e-
commerce in developed economies represents the latest leader of chance in physical
distribution network and SCM, whereas in developing economies, e-commerce market is still
in its infancy but it is expanding and becoming integral part of commercial life. This field
evolved substantially over the past four decades and continues to grow today. In the early
days, low prices and convenience were the driving forces for e-commerce, but today, e-
commerce retailers (also known as e-tailers) are catering to every kind of shopping
experience, service and product. Presently, it remains the case that as the gross revenue
earned from e-commerce is increasing year on year from nascence to critical mass, most
transport service providers (TSP) or retailers, particularly multi- and omni-channel retailers,
are only starting to realize what this will bring to their retail logistics and physical
distribution network infrastructures and what role they can have within. So much as, today e-
commerce has become a complementary retail touch point for the traditional brick-and-
mortar retail.
The new e-commerce technologies have the potential to offer greater efficiencies and
transparency and have led to significant changes within supply chains, with alternative ways
of doing business, improved visibility and changes to distribution channels, including new
intermediaries.

Research methodology is a way to solve the research problem in a systematic manner. It may
understand as a science of studying how the research is done significantly. The methodology
may differ from problem to problem, yet the basic approach towards the research remains the
same. The sequence or steps followed have been explained as under:

DATA COLLECTION
The collection of information is done through two sources
1. Primary Data:
Interview and questionnaire have been used to conduct the study. A structured
questionnaire consisting close-ended questions have been made, which is filled by the
trainee during direct interaction with the respondents.

2. Secondary Data:
The secondary data will be collected from already published sources such as pamphlets of
annual reports, internal records, books, journals, magazines, and websites.

4
NATURE OF RESEARCH
To accomplish the objective of the study, descriptive research design is adopted to collect the
data from the respondents. The descriptive study is typically concerned with determining
frequency with which same thing occurs. This study is typically guided by initial hypothesis.

SAMPING UNIVERSE

Sampling Method: Judgmental Non Probability sampling is used to select the individual
units for better productivity of the questionnaire. A well educated person may be able to
reason out the questions in the better way. Sampling method refers to the rules and
procedures by which some elements of the population are included in the sample. Some
common sampling methods are simple random sampling, stratified sampling, and cluster
sampling.

Population: The total element of the universe from which sample is selected for the purpose
of study is known as population, the population of my research is the Consumers of flipkart
in Delhi region.

Area of research: New Delhi

Number of respondents: 50

Data Analysis Stage

Data collected through primary & secondary sources will be tabulated and summarized so as
to draw logical conclusions.

5
STATISTICAL TOOLS:

PERCENTAGE ANALYSIS
Percentage refers to special kind of ratio. This method is used as making comparison
between two or more services of data. Percentage charts are used to decidable relationship.
Percentage can also be used to compare the relative terries, the distribution of two or more
services of data

CHARTS
Bar charts and pie charts are used to get a clear look at the tabulated data.

LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY:

 Due to lack of time and resources a countrywide survey was not possible. Hence only
NCR Region has been taken for the study.

them to give time.
 The information given by the respondents might be biased because some of them
might not be interested to given correct information.
