DELIVERY HERO RELOCATION GUIDELINE 1

1. General
At Delivery Hero, we believe that employees shouldn’t have to
dip into their savings to move for a new job. Therefore
Delivery Hero is offering a relocation package to support all
new heroes during their journey of starting a new job.
Although masculine personal and possessive pronouns are
used to refer to the employee, mentioned in this guideline,
they refer to employees of Delivery Hero SE and Delivery Hero
Austria GmbH, all male, female and divers.
1.1 Applicability
This relocation guideline applies to all employees of Delivery
Hero SE and Delivery Hero Austria GmbH. This relocation
guideline can be updated and modified at any time.
2. Eligibility
2.1 General Eligibility
All permanent employees who have their permanent place of
residence outside 100km from Berlin and who need to
relocate for their role at Delivery Hero SE or Delivery Hero
Austria GmbH are eligible for a relocation package.
Furthermore this guideline applies to internal candidates from
other entities of Delivery Hero SE and external hires regardless
of level or seniority.
This relocation guideline does not apply to interns, working
students or employees hired on a fixed-term contract.
2.2 Types and eligibility of the different
relocation packages
Which relocation package the employee is entitled for
depends on certain criteria. The offered package is related to
where the employee is relocating from and with whom they
are relocating with. The employee is obliged to name the
family members relocating with them to Berlin within 2 weeks
after signing the employment contract with Delivery Hero at
the latest. Further information on how to name and change
the relatives who will relocate with the employee will be
mentioned in the FAQ relocation guideline paper. The
relocation package is divided into the following modules:
Single:
The employee relocates alone.

Spouse/ Partner:
The employee relocates together with their spouse/ partner.
This also includes the fiancée as well as the partner living
together with the employee before the move.
Family:
The employee relocates with their partner/spouse and/or
children. This includes adopted children, children already
adopted during the adoption process and stepchildren, if they
are unmarried, under the age of 18 years, living in the same
household as the employee and are financially dependent on
the employee.
3. Content of the Relocation
Package
The relocation package includes four components which are
the following:
3.1 Relocation Bonus
New joiners receive a one-time relocation bonus valued gross
which they can use at their discretion to reimburse their visa
fees and costs related to their relocation (fees of document
translation, visa issuing fees, transport of furniture, temporary
accommodation, etc.). The amount of this bonus payment
refers to the respective type of relocation package as
mentioned in 2.2. This bonus will be paid with the first payroll
month upon the relocation of the employee. A payout before
the actual start date is not feasible due to tax regulations.
3.2 Transportation
The second part of the relocation package includes the
transport of the employee to Berlin. Possible means of
transportation according to our travel policy are the following:
• One-way flight
• Train
• Bus
• Private vehicle
Private vehicle:
If the employee is relocating to Berlin with their private
vehicle, they can reimburse € 0.30 per km officially travelled
up to a total reimbursement amount of € 200,00. No extra fuel
costs will be reimbursed. The employee can use their
relocation bonus lump sum to cover the fuel costs. This option
only applies for relocation within Europe.

 3.2.1 Travel Booking
Delivery Hero will manage the booking and the costs of the
flight, train or bus ticket in accordance with it’s travel policy
for all persons depending on the type of the relocation
package mentioned in 2.2. If the employee relocates by flight,
Delivery Hero will only cover the costs of a one-way flight
(economy class). If the mean of transportantion, except from
the private vehicle, is not booked by Delivery Hero but by the
employee themself, the employee has to cover the costs of
this by themself.
The journey of the family members must take place within the
first six months of employment; subsequent recourse to the
employer (Delivery Hero) to cover travel expenses shall be
excluded.
After the employee has received their visa, the global mobility
team will connect them to the internal travel team who is
taking care of the booking of the flight, train or bus.
Any additional luggage, shipping of furniture or costs of
veterinaries will not be covered by Delivery Hero. The
relocation bonus can be used to cover these costs.
3.3 Visa/ Work Permit
The third part of the relocation package is the visa/ work
permit support provided by a third party relocation agency
and the internal global mobility team. Delivery Hero covers the
associated costs of services provided by the relocation agency
related to visa and work permit assistance (if applicable). This
includes the costs of visa support of the employee’s
spouse/partner/family. Regardless of the relocation bonus
payout (mentioned in 3.1) the visa support of the employee’s
spouse/partner will just be provided to married couples. If a
visa/ work permit is not needed, the employee waives the
right to claim extra costs for this unused service.
Visa Fees:
Delivery Hero does not cover any costs related to visa fees.
These costs need to be covered by the relocation bonus the
employee will receive as mentioned in 3.1.
3.3.1 Application of a Visa/ Work Permit for
Germany:
This process will be handled by the relocation agency. After
the employee has signed his employment contract with
Delivery Hero and if visa/ work permit assistance is needed,
the global mobility team will connect the employee with the
relocation agency who will support the employee during the
visa process starting with collecting necessary document and
ending with receiving a German visa/ work permit. Afterwards

the employee will be handed over to a personal coach for
support on administrative tasks as mentioned in 3.4.
3.3.2 Change of a German Work Permit:
If the employee has a work permit for Germany already which
needs to be prolonged or changed, Delivery Hero’s internal
global mobility team will handle this task and support the
employee during this process, including collecting documents
and submitting them at the immigration office, etc.
3.3.3 Relocation Only
If the employee needs to relocate to Berlin and is EU national
or has a valid work permit for Germany already, they are just
entitled for the transport to Berlin (mentioned in 3.2) and the
assistance from the personal relocation coach (mentioned in
3.4).
3.4 Relocation Agency Services
New joiners who need to relocate to Berlin for their new job
at Delivery Hero, will receive support from the cooperating
relocation agency. This includes the following services:
Visa/ Work Permit (if needed):
• Support with the application for a German visa
• Assistance during the whole process until the long-time
work permit is issued
Personal Relocation Coach:
The relocation agency will connect the employee with a
personal coach who will support them with several
administrative and personalized tasks related to their
relocation to Berlin. This coach speaks fluent English and
German and will support the employee within the time frame
of 1 week before and 5 weeks after the employee’s arrival to
Berlin.
Depending on the type of relocation package, mentioned in
2.2., the employee is entitled for the following hourly
packages with their coach:
Single Package à 12 hours
Partner Package à 12 hours
Family Package à 20 hours
The employee can decide in which fields they want assistance
from their coach based on the individual circumstances. For
example, they can get support for the following:

 Administration:
• Registering address at Bürgeramt (Anmeldung)
• Opening a bank account/ activating SIM
card/phone
• Choosing a German health insurance
• Picking up work permit at the Ausländerbehörde
• Kita/ school search etc.

Permanent Home Search:

• Getting a SCHUFA
• Helping with the application in German
• Accompaniment on flat viewings etc.

4. Validity
4.1 Applicable Services

If the services are not required by the employee, Delivery Hero

will not provide another benefit/service lieu of this. For
relocation services/benefits which are not needed by the
employee, no cash compensation will be given by Delivery
Hero. If the services are not used within 6 months of arrival,
they will no longer be offered.

4.2 Loss of Entitlement

If the employee voluntarily leaves the company or in the event

of giving notice of termination with a cause by the employer
within 1 year, the employee must pay back the relocation
bonus. For each month of employment, the employee is
released from 1/12 of the total repayment amount. Costs of
already used services will not be charged to the employee.

5. Final Provisions
If one or more provisions of this guideline should be
ineffective, this shall not affect the rest of the provisions.
This guideline shall remain in effect unless declared invalid or
replaced by a new guideline.
