ABSTRACT

Idea to design, analysis and fabricate a shoe rack combines with wardrobe come
from my residence has a problem with their small room. To design, analysis and
fabricate this product, it must be compared to other product on the market. To
ensure that the idea for designing, analysis and fabricating the product is not
outdated, information about shoe rack and wardrobe designs must be searched or
obtained from the internet. The information and idea for designing and fabricating
can be derived from there. It contains a lot of information about shoe rack and
wardrove design that might be interested in. The entire project entails a variety of
techniques, including concept design, designing, analysis, and fabrication. Aside
from that, this project can provide motivation and experience to operate various
types of machines, train to work under pressure, and also soft skill abilities such as
time management, task planning, negotiation, and selling out the idea, particularly
during work progress presentations.

CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION

1.1 OVERVIEW PROJECT

The room – a small world, our universe, that we had created. Our room is a
place where we feel the most comfortable and openly show our personality to
our self. But as we all know, there will be someone who has problem with their
small size of bedroom. Small room is not a problem for those who can managed
their room perfectly. But for those who cannot managed their room, it will be
disaster for them. Their room will be messy and untidy. According to some
experts, these tiny spaces can cause claustrophobia and increased stress. For
them, these spaces can even lead to higher rates of domestic violence and
substance abuse in worst-case scenarios. So, the main point of my project is to
create a shoe rack and wardrobe combined together to save space. This product
will make your room looks tidier and more arranged. We try to create
something that look futuristic and minimalist but in the same time is eco-
friendly product. This product did not use something that can give harm to our
beloved Mother Nature. For example, this product did not use batteries or
electric source to use this product. It just uses human energy to use this product
and to make this product working.

1.2 DESIGN OBJECTIVE

• To solve the problem for someone who had problem with their small rooms.
• To ensure the tidiness of the room and looks more arranged.
• To create a product that look futuristic and at the same time look minimalist.
• To create a product that eco-friendly and did not give harm to the
environment

1.3 PROBLEM STATEMENT

Nowadays some people love to collect shoes and own up to five pairs of shoes
on their own for collection. Either they have to purchase another shoe rack, or
they have to buy a huge shoe rack to store all of them. If we own more than one
shoe rack or a wide shoe rack, the room or space will look small and narrow. It
does not include with their wardrobe that will make it look more worst.

Other than that, every shoe that had been worn for a long time will release
foul-smelling toxins causing them to wreak even after it had been aired out.
Then, instead of leaving the shoes along the doorway, we need to have a shoe
rack to place the shoes inside to control and reduce the shoes odor. If our room
smells good and free from unpleasant smells, we are always in a good mood.
People who own this product will be stress-free because they are in a good
mood. They can also have a moment of relaxation without unpleasant smells
disrupting their day.

Moreover, some people who have many shirts will have a problem to find
their shirt if they have a small wardrobe. Nowadays, the price for the wardrobe
that come with a place to hang their shirts will cost you more and take up more
space. So, if you use this product, you will have a wardrobe that have hanging
compartment but with an affordable price and does not take up much space.

Finally, there are some people that cannot managed their room properly will
make their room small and narrow. They need to spend more money to have
something that looks great and have a good design. But for this product, they
need to spend on a single product that have multi-function but at affordable
price. They will have something that look futuristic and minimalist that will
make your rooms more attractive

1.4 SCOPE OF THE PROJECT

The scope of the project is for individuals who own a lot of shoes and clothes. This
project aims to create a product that can be used by students that staying in a rented
house or college. The features for the product are durable which can withstand a lot of
shoes and clothes, but with a size that does not take up a lot of space.

1.5 SIGNIFICANCE OF THE PROJECT

This product is necessary for people who own a lot of shoes and clothes.
This product will help them to organize their shoes and clothes in just one
closet at their place or space. This product can be placed in a house or maybe
at the retail store for example thrift shop. The advantages of this product are
providing key information such as styles, sizes and purposes of each type of
shoes or clothes displayed.

There are many benefits of this shoe rack. Firstly, for those who buy this
product, they only paid an affordable price and can get two items that
combined together. Furthermore, it can save space as for the shoe rack it can
fit more than ten shoes and for the wardrobe, you can fit many shirts and
clothes as it used hanging method. It also does not take up much space as it is
rotatable for the shoe rack and for the wardrobe, it only the size of one single
door and use pull out method. Next, it will save time for people to reach and
find their desired shoes or clothes faster and easily. Furthermore, with the use
of this product, you will have a new creative design that looks futuristic and
minimalist. Lastly it is friendly. As for the shoe rack, it is rotatable and allows
people to choose or take shoes in a comfortable state. People also do not have
to bend their body to reach their shoes. And same goes for the wardrobe, you
only pull out the door and choose your clothes without you need to bend your
body to choose your folding shirts or clothes because all your shirts will be
hanging.

1.6 EXPECTED RESULT

At the end of the experiment, this product expected to:

• Solve the problem for someone that have small space for their room
• Facilitates the user to choose suitable clothing or shoes more easily
• Increase the effectiveness of the user daily life
• Creating an aesthetic and futuristic vibe in the user’s room.
