120 HOURS is an independent competition organized on a

non-profit, voluntary basis.

It is a challenging and fun competition to participate in.

As of now, 120 HOURS has become one of the world’s

largest and most prestigious student-driven architecture
competitions, created for and by architecture students. With
some of the worlds most renowned architects as jury
members
 HISTORY

In 2010, three students at the Oslo School of

Architecture and Design created a new arena

1 where Norwegian students could introduce

themselves to the industry. They wanted to
challenge, motivate and promote the most
skilled, most innovative and committed
students in the architecture profession.

120 HOURS introduced a brand new

2 competition format, where students are given
120 hours (5 days) to solve a complex and
socially relevant assignment

2014- Øyafestivalen

Collaborating with one of the largest music festivals in

Scandinavia, Øyafestivalen, the task was to design a
structure on the festival site that can function as a
meeting point and crowd-pleaser, while communicating
a sustainable statement. The wining proposal was built
for Øyafestivalen 2015

The task was to design a small library and

canteen for an elementary school in the
mountain village Pu'an in Guizhou, China.

The winning proposal was further

developed and built in cooperation with
the winners by a team of 8 students from
The Oslo School of Architecture and
Design.
