COVID-19 MEASURES
Organising Committee COVID-19 Response Plan
• Please familiarize yourself with the OC’s COVID Response Plan:

• Wearing a mask over nose and mouth is mandatory in all areas
at the venue as well as in transport and in the hotel when not
in your room – ensure that you bring sufficient masks for your
stay. A scarf is not a mask!
• Please use the hand sanitizer provided when entering
rooms/buildings and wash your hands regularly.
• Keep at least 1.5m distance from other people at all times!
Oeiras COVID-19 Response Plan
• If you have an ill rower or a team member showing symptoms:
• Team Manager to immediately call the OC Covid Manager Sérgio Manso
number: + 351 916 162 746 (at venue or hotel)
• For a Medical Substitution/Withdrawal due to illness, please call the OC
to arrange a rapid COVID test before contacting World Rowing.
• OC will advise the team on next steps with regard to isolation and any
further testing.
• If at the venue – will be isolated in the isolation room.
• If at the hotel – must stay in the room and isolate. Roommates and crew
mates should also isolate.
• Close Contacts
• World Rowing Event Manager will contact the Team Manager to follow
up on identification of close contacts.

If you retire from the race you should continue to follow the course.
If a race is abandoned, follow the instructions of the OC.
There are two shelters – Fort end if the race beach and the Marina.

‘2 minutes’ – must be ready in lane on the sand
(starter will watch the waves)

It will be quick, maybe only 15s from put
your boats on the water to go. So be ready.
Boat Handlers
• Each crew shall have up to THREE boat handlers.
• The boat handlers shall come from the athletes team,
however if your team does not have enough boat handlers
the OC can help.
• The boat handlers shall wear the World Rowing bib which can
be collected from the control commission. Please ensure that
they are returned after your race.
• Crews must remove their boats from the water immediately
after they have finished the race.
QUAD (C4x+) - BEACH START RULE
• Bow sitting in the boat for the start.
• 2, 3 and 4 and cox standing in the water

1. Crews round last turning point.


2. Arrive on the beach under control and
runner runs to cross the finish line.

3. Remaining crew and handers move the


boat out of the arrival zone.

4. Runner with a penalty must enter the


penalty box before crossing the finish line.

5. The runner needs to have the ankle tracker


so you time is recorded.

Racing Regulations
Interference & Turning points:
- Over-taking crews must not interfere with the other
crew(s). The crew(s) being over-taken must steer a
straight line.

Racing – important information Regulations

• There will be doping control & boat weighing.


• Please check everything in your hire boat before
you go out to race.
• Please be careful of the fins on the boats, the hire
providers are running out of replacements.
Medal ceremonies Regulations

• Medal ceremonies for CW4x+, CM2x, CW1x will be


on Saturday, 02 October, 14:15
• Medal ceremonies for CW2x, CM1x, CM4x+,
CMix2x will be on Saturday, 02 October, 18:00
Team Trophy Regulations

• Points are awarded for the top


ranked boats from each NF.
• WR will announce the winner
Training on race days
Remind you that there is no safety cover outside the official training
area and times. Crews going outside of these are at risk of a yellow
card.
We will let you know if it is possible to training on race days via CC
WhatsApp.
