CASE STUDY

TURING
CASE HISTORY:
Turing Aerodynamics (Turing) has formed a joint venture (JV) with Riemann Generators (Riemann) in
order to design and manufacture high-performance wind turbines which generate electricity. The joint
venture is called TandR with each party owning 50%. Turing will design and build the pylons, housing
and turbine blades while Riemann will supply the generators to be fitted inside the housing. Turing is a
medium sized firm known for its blade design skills. It is owned by three venture capital firms (VCs)
(each holding 30% of the shares), with the remaining 10% being given to management to motivate
them.

ISSUES BY HAND:

 As Turing and Riemann, they are undoubtedly at various danger types and corporate
environments. We would likely have specific strategies. At the organizational stage, this
may create issues at the T and R stage because a number of administrators from each of
the JV partners are in control and will thus follow various management styles.

 One problem with joint ventures in general is that they are require that the investment
parties exchange intellectual rights, knowledge and resources with each other. Some
other components may however be financially liable and the investment participants
are therefore unable to reveal so much details regarding themselves.
FACTS AND FIGURES:

Maximum = $13,300 dollars of 8 MW
Maximam = $3,980 from the 3 MW
Turing and Riemann due to their differences in preferred decision-making methods. I 'd like to
develop various styles of turbines. Riemann agreed to develop the 8 MW units the 3 MW units
are designed by Riemann.
ALTERNATIVES:
The alternative of management team, which controls the other 10 percent of Turing 's firm, is
the other main shareholder. It is evident from the fact that the management are granted a
share in the organization and their desire to experience the pressures of launching new goods.
The high risk approach adopted by the VCs is comfortable.
Will VC has a broad business investments portfolio and recognizes that certain of these
investments can struggle given there are significant returns in other investments.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
The management of Turing is often likely to draw groundbreaking ventures, including the 8 MW
machine. They are confronted with new obstacles, and are undoubtedly inspired by the
possibility of establishing a leading global organization.
Throughout this way, it would probably be necessary to create a atmosphere of confidence
between the partners for the JV 's success. If indeed, venture partners are somewhat different
from Turing and Riemann's cultures and management styles – it may be more challenging to
understand this confidence.
