activities of architects as well as accomplish requisite skills and competence to do them justice
thus to always keep on ensuring for future the noble dignity and social status of the profession.

Hence this cordial invitation extended to proffer you an opportunity to collaborate with us in
our endeavor, although academic and hence curricularised, in shouldering the said responsibility
with all your pragmatic and expedient contact with the ever shifting technological, and
ideological scenario in the profession.

The Five Year Bachelor's course in Architecture of Pune University is purposely programmed on
Sands witch-Pattern' to the better advantage of the educational guidelines proffered by the
Indian Council of Architecture since it ipso-facto entails a continued access, however brief, for
students to institutional facilities for subsequent self-correction or improvement.

Accordingly an intermediate 'Ninth' semester is allotted to Practical-Training in Professional

Organisation for students to learn, by example, about the application in practice of academic
percepts and instructions till then received by them, during the prior six semesters.

The students scheduled for such training will have been elementarily acquainted with such core-
subjects as - Architectural Drawings and Graphics. 20 Computer-Aided-Draftings, Architectural

Design, Building Technology and Services, Structural Design, Surveying and Leveling and
Working Drawing with a view to enable them function fairly well primarily in the Design-Sections
of the professional organisations. They will also have been elementarily exposed to such
complementary subjects like Basic Design, History of architecture, Building technology,
Landscape Design, Quantity-Surveying and Estimation but not Building-Bye-laws, Professional-
Practice or advanced levels of the aforesaid core-subjects.

As such the trainees are not expected to render full-fledged architectural services to your
organisation but rather will have to be entrusted with modest assignments purposively of a
range as can give them as much a window on customary purview and procedure of architectural
practice as possible; it is in this regard that your considered collaboration is earnestly solicited

Under the curriculum, the trainees are required to be engaged on full-time basis and expected
to behave properly working regulariy, punctually and diligently within whatever the disciplinary
framework of your organisation. Any lapses on their part in this regard may please be reported
to the "Faculty In-charge as nominated for the concerned Academic Year by the College,
hereinafter mentioned, although the onus of their misconduct will- be entirely theirs.

For better description of the over-all purview envisaged under the curriculum for 'Practical
Training' relevant portion of the concerned syllabus is enclosed for your perusal and ready

reference
Needless to say you should always feel free to obtain whatever additional clarification needed
from the Faculty-in-charge' required vide the said syllabus to be nominated by every college
