1. Explain the purpose of Bias in the transmitter circuit? Why battery biasing method is not
good. Describe with the help of diagram, the fixed bias circuits.
2. Explain how you will determine the voltage gain of the CE amplifier by plotting the dc load
line on the output characteristics of the transistor.
3. Explain why common emitter configuration is most popular in amplifier circuits.
4. An amplifier has an internal gain A of 200. Its output impedance is 1K Ω. Negative feedback
introduced in the circuit (β = 0.02). Calculate the output impedance of the feedback amplifier.
5. Draw the circuit diagram of a Colpitts oscillator using a BJT. Which component is responsible
for positive feedback in the circuit? Explain.
6. State the advantages achieved by using a push-pull amplifier circuit, instead of connecting the
two transistors in parallel.
7. Explain why the complementary -symmetry power amplifier has become more popular in
modern circuits. Draw a practical circuit of a complementary symmetry push-pull amplifier
circuit.
8. The collector circuit efficiency of a power amplifier is 20%. The circuit is used in a radio
receiver which is rated for an output of 500 mW. Calculate the collector dissipating power.
