Performance Task for Grade 8 English


1st Quarter Performance Standard
The learner transfers learning by composing and delivering an informative speech based on a specific topic of interest keeping in mind the proper and effective use of parallel structures
and cohesive devices and appropriate prosodic features, stance, and behavior.

Performance Task (G.R.A.S.P.S)


The Department of Health has launched a contest on science-technology writing which aims to widen their advocacy on the importance of health safety procedures amid pandemic. This
specifically called for young student writers who can relay this important information to their respective schools. As one of the contestants, you will compose a three-paragraph essay
which centers on how you keep yourself and your family healthy despite the threats that the virus has been posing. In discussing these ways, you need to include appropriate cohesive
devices (sequence or comparison and contrast) to keep your writing organized.

Format: Short-sized bond paper, Times New Roman 12, Single Spacing
Specific Instructions: Put your name and section on the upper left corner of the paper. Such as in the
figure on the right.
