Read carefully and answer the different questions about Listening, listening strategies, and types of
listeners.

Listening:
● Do you enjoy listening to speeches in class and seminars? Explain your answers
I enjoy listening to short speeches or seminars because I can enrich my knowledge and
improve my listening skill.
● Do you believe active listening is an important part of your listening skills?
Active listening is a great technique to improve my listening skills because I concentrate more
and I am able to answer anything about what I am listening to.
Listening Strategies:
● As a student, you listen carefully to the teacher and ask questions in case you have
doubts or want to learn more?
Yes, as I am learning the language I enjoy listening to the professor and to know what I
don’t understand when she is explaining something.

● Do you recall old or previous knowledge/information to share in your classes? If so, is it

for better understanding of the message or to reinforce information?
I don’t usually recall information to share in class.

● If you could choose a method or strategy that works for all the students in order to be
better active listeners, what would you choose or recommend to teachers?
I will recommend using useful information on the listening tasks that we will use in our
daily life.

Types of Listeners:
● Are the majority of your classmates active listeners?
No, they aren’t.
● To you, what would make a good active listener and what can you recommend to your
classmates and professors to encourage them to enhance their listening?
I would recommend listening to many native speakers, audios or videos talking about interesting
topics and try to remember what they are talking about and ask yourselves questions about the
listening.
