Tatra KT8D5 vehicles
Tatra KT8D5 trams are offered for sale by Transport Company of Miskolc. Our company would like to sell
12pcs trams, other 6pcs are held for spare tram and nostalgic ones. 9pcs trams from 12 are fully working,
those sometimesrun according to schedule in Miskolc, other 3pcs are needed to renovation. Trams have
Hungarian documents, year of manufacturing are 1986-1990.
31pcs Skoda 26THU3 trams were arrived to Miskolc as part of the tramways development of Miskolc
major project in 2013 and 2014. These vehicles are served totally the demand of the city tram
transportation, therefore our Tatra vehicles are offered for sale.
Tatra KT8D5 articulated trams have 8 axles, 4 bogies (center 2 of them are Jacobs types), 8 pcs TE023 type
one by one 45kW drive motor, totally 360kW performance, 2 driving cabs, 2 pantographs, 10 doors. It
was made by ČKD, Czechoslovakia.

First tram with nr. 200 was arrived to Miskolc in
1991. The brand new trams was planned originally
for Kosice, but it was not needed for this kind of big
capacity vehicle due to the changed travelling habits
(because of dismantling of steelworks of Kosice), so
it was run since this date in Miskolc. Follow this tram
other 9pcs usedsome years before produced trams
were purchased in 1992. The vehicles run initially in
line 2, after track renovation they run also in line 1.
In 1996-1997 other 8pcs trams were purchased
from Most, Czech Republic.

Technical condition of the for sale vehicles
9 pcs from the vehicles are suitable for traffic, regularly maintained (it was documented in our Business
Management System), according to the prescribed inspection cycle, what is controlled in Hungary by
National Transport Authority. Other 3pcs are needed to fully restoration.
We provide the tools and the necessary parts for reparation for sale vehicles. The Transport Company of
Miskolc also provides the contacts of the supplier, they have currently consignment stock at our
company. We can give maintenance manual for the reparation, which contains the manufacturer's
instruction and our more than 20 year long operation experiences as well.
Story of the vehicle
First prototype was constructed in 1984, mainly for modernize the tram transportation in the cities of
Czech Republic. The layout of the doors of this type are unusual, because bidirectionaltrams with two
sided doors were really uncommon in the onetime
Czechoslovakia. Since then it has a lot of different variations,
and many conversions are known. The older trams have got
electrical information system for the passengers during their
modernization and the middle section has been become low
floor sometimes. These vehicles are one of the most modern
and the biggest capacity trams of the Tatra family, with
favorable maintenance cost and time. The vehicles had
average 90% traffic index at Transport Company of Miskolc so
that the prescribed maintenances were made regularly.
Czech manufacturers produced low-floor spacer for Tarta
KT8D5 vehicles, with which the vehicles fulfill the regulations
of the Equal OpportunitiesDirective of EU. The trams have
become more popular with this modification among the
travelling public. The name of the type of the vehicles isTatra
KT8D5.N2, this kind of modified vehicles are running with
high number in Kosice, Prague, Pilsen. EU tendering sources
are available for low-floor modifications for the feasible
equal opportunities criteria.

SGP E1
Beside Tatra vehicles, Transport Company
of Miskolc is offer for sale SGP E1 type
trams as well. These vehicles were bought
from Wien between 2002 and 2004, the
year of manufacturing is 1969. The trams
have mono direction, one sided doors, and
half pantograph, six axles, Jacobs bogies,
center bogie is non-driven, other two are
mono motor driven, with solenoid disk
brakes. Control is made by driving switch.
There is a switchboard in the backside of
the tram, because the tram is able to travel
in opposite direction for shorter distance
with a temporary driving cab.
