Eligibility

1. Wards of serving Army personnel including Defence Security Corps (DSC) and
MNS Officers who have not attained 25 years of age at the time of completion of class/course
from class IX to PG level of education.

2. Wards of Retired Army Personnel, Territorial Army personnel (TA), battle casualty and
deceased Army personnel are not eligible.

Method of Selection and Award of Scholarship

1. All subjects taken by the student in the class will be considered for calculation of
percentage of marks. Scholarship will not be awarded on marks obtained in best four/five
subjects. The cut off percentages/grades to receive applications for various classes and
categories are as under :-
Class Officers JCOs OR
IX to XII 90 85 85
Graduation 75 75 60
PG/Professional Courses 75 75 60

2. Once the applications are received based on above cut off percentages/grades, merit
list will be drawn for award of scholarship based on allotment of funds for the particular year.
Amount of Scholarship

1. The scholarship, based on the level of education for all categories are as under : -

(a) Class IX and XI - Rs 1500/- per annum.

(b) Class X and XII - Rs 3000/- per annum.
(c) Graduation - Rs 5000/- per annum
(d) Professional/PG courses - Rs 10000/- per annum.

Merit Certificate

1. Merit certificate will be given to all eligible received applications.

Timelines

1. The applications should pertain to the declared results of the immediate preceding
academic year between 01 Oct of the preceding year and 30 Sep of the current year
(ie applications will be processed this year for the period 01 Oct 2020 to 30 Sep 2021).

2. As per AO 16/2016/AG (Under Revision) last date for receipt of applications is 30

Nov. Any change in the date of receipt of applications beyond 30 Nov will be updated on
AWES website at an appropriate stage.

Times of India Merit Scholarship / Gem & Jewellery Scholarship

1. R&W Section, CW Dte (DIAV) dealing with M/s Times of India scholarship allots the
vacancies for professional courses ie Engineering, Medical, MBA, MCA, Mass Communication
and Journalism. R&W Section, CW Dte (DIAV) also deals with Gem & Jewellery
Scholarship for School, UG and PG only.

2. Particulars of applicants for award of above scholarships will be fwd by this HQ

to R&W Sec. No separate application for award of Times of India Merit Scholarship/Gem &
Jewellery Scholarship shall be forwarded to R&W Sec, CW Dte (DIAV).

1. Amount of scholarship will be tfr to the applicants based on bank details given in
application form through online transaction.
