Introduction
With rapid increase in the usage of social networks sites across the world, there is also a steady
increase in blood donation requests as being noticed in the number of posts on these sites such
as Facebook and twitter seeking blood donors. Finding blood donor is a challenging issue in
almost every country.
Most of the universities, hospitals and the other public trusts offers the blood donation services
but there are lots of problems while accessing their services. There is no such platform where
public can access or finds the blood donors easily. As a result, many people suffer lots of the
problems and cannot find blood donor on time.
For our project, we propose the development of such application, where a person can search for
the required blood group all over the country or in specific region and can contact the donor
through the application or by donor given contact details.

Objectives
● Provide access to blood donors anytime and anywhere by syncing the donor data with a
central server.
● GPS will help blood seekers to find blood donors, and blood banks nearer to the location
from where the request for the blood is generated.
● The very friendly design will lead the user to every module very easily without any
difficulty.
● The user can also sync the data for later use in case of no internet connection.
● Provide Android and iOS phone application.

Problem Description:
In spite of the potential availability of the blood donors not more than 10% of the total Pakistani
population donates blood. Advancement and surgeries in medical science has increased the blood
demand. Also, blood-donors usually don't come to know about the receivers in need of the blood.
These reasons motivate us to develop a more efficient system that will assist in exploring
information to people about the present blood donation system.
By developing this system, any user of this system can find the nearest willing blood donors
easily. The user can get the desired blood faster and it may save the someone’s life.
Value Proposition

This application fills the need of finding the blood donors across the country. By using this
application, the people can find the required blood instantly.
The absence of such type of platforms, will put this application in a unique position.

Project Scope:
This is a cross platform mobile app-based project which will work as a platform to remove the
gap exist in blood donors and patients. This application reduces the time lag between the
searching and contacting for blood donors to a few seconds which can be of utter use to the
people of this country in saving more and more lives. since almost everyone carries a mobile
phone with him, it ensures instant location tracking and communication. the location-based app,
operational on android platform, will help users easily find donors of matching blood groups in
their location and access their mobile numbers or can use built-in messenger for instant help.
This application will have three views: Admin, Donor and User.
In admin view admin will manage all the system functionalities through a web portal.
In donor view donor will create his profile by providing the essentials.
In user view user can create the profile by providing the essential details to use the app services.
User can chat with donor through system built-in messenger.
The client can also go through from the guidelines section to view the useful precautions needed
before and after blood transfusion. To be a member of the save life app, person has to fill the
registration form and provide the necessary information.

Application Features and Description

In this Application every user has to signup/in to use the application.
This application is divided into the four system views.
User view:
 Signup as user by providing the essential details.
 Can only utilize the user features i-e; find ambulance or hospital / blood donor.
 User can contact the ambulance driver or blood donor by using built-in chat system or
on any other medium listed in donor’s contact details.
 User can search for the required service city/area wise.

In order to calculate the optimal results, the application uses Google Maps/ Transit information
to get distances and travel times between event locations. The application then displays an
optimized result to the user, which the user can modify if required.
Donor view:
 Signup as Blood Donor.
 Provide details (personal information and Blood Group details)
 Provide contact information.

Admin view:
Admin will control all the system functionality through the web-based admin portal. System
will notice the unusual activity/spamming and will report it to the admin. Admin have access
to terminates the accounts.

Targeted People:
● Blood deficiency patients – Any patient who’s facing the blood deficiency problem.
● Blood Donors – Who wants to donate the blood to save lives.

Methodology:
Waterfall methodology will be used for the development of the system.

Conclusion:
This project aims to create an cross platform mobile application known as An Efficient cross
platform mobile application for Blood Donation Process. Sole purpose of project is to develop
an cross platform mobile application that will link all donors and receivers with app. The
application will help to communicate people for blood transfusion service and create a database
to hold the information about the stock of blood present in each area, and information of
available donors in each city. Furthermore, people will be able to see which patients need blood
supplies with the help of an application. They will be able to register as donors and thus receive
an SMS from their local clients about the blood requirement and will be able to donate blood in
cases of need. The
application will help to develop public awareness amongst its visitors of the hospitals' need for
blood in order to supply the appropriate donors.
