Safer Internet for All Malaysians

The 1Malaysia concept is based on the principles of “People First, Performance Now”, and is aimed at fulfilling
the aspirations of Malaysians in line with the provisions enshrined in the Federal Constitution and the National
Principles or Rukun Negara. It evolves around a culture of excellence, perseverance, acceptance, education,
integrity, humility, and loyalty. It is a guiding principle in building a united and progressive nation, and
inculcate the spirit and value of togetherness and a sense of belonging, regardless of race, religion and creed.

Malaysia is fast moving forward in developing its communications infrastructure where The “Klik Dengan Bijak” logo or tagline is used to serve as a reminder to users to be careful and think before
broadband connectivity has now reached 63.5% of households with more than 17.5 million they access and use the Internet. Furthermore, the term “Klik” (click) is an applicable action on all digital
users. There is a need to ensure that this development is in line with the “Rukun Negara” devices and various applications and is a term that can be easily understood by all.

The Ministry of Information, Communications and Culture Malaysia through the Malaysian
Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) is cognizant of its role in safeguarding its
citizens and has embarked on a campaign to educate and raise awareness on safe and positive
use of the Internet.

This national campaign, which was launched on 1 July, 2012 is called “Klik Dengan Bijak” which
loosely translates to click smartly, with the main themes of promoting safety, security and National Policy Objectives of
