1. SECTION –: PURPOSE
The purpose of this procedure is to provide proper guidelines for post concrete inspection
and repair works at site to establish a system to control the work and to ensure that proper
quality control is exercised as per the specified requirement, maintain required quality and
to prepare all necessary documentations.
2. SECTION –: SCOPE
This procedure covers material, supervision and method of record keeping for all post
concrete inspection and repair works in Provident – Kenworth project.
3. SECTION –: REFERENCES
 Good for Construction drawings.
 Relevant codes and standards.
4. SECTION –: RESPONSIBILITIES
The responsibility of implementation of this procedure is with the Section In-Charge / Site
Engineer. Front line or SVD Engineer shall verify its implementation and checking the
activity, process and making necessary instruction for development.
5. SECTION –: MATERIALS
 Cement
 Non shrink cementitious grout (Approved make/GP2)
 Cebex 100
 Flexible PVC nozzles
 Pressure grouting machine
6. SECTION –: METHODOLOGY
6.0 Before proceeding for any repair post pour inspection should be completed.
6.1. General Surface Preparation
 The surface shall be sound, clean and free from any loose materials up to sound concrete
and the surface must be free from oil, grease and dust.
 Concrete surfaces shall be prepared and shall be thoroughly soaked to ensure a saturated
but surface dry condition at the time of application of Repair product.
6.2. HONEYCOMB TREATMENT:

6.2.1. Minor repair for surface imperfections.

 Minor honeycomb/surface voids will be repaired with Non shrink cementitious material as
per manufacture specification. The mortar shall be applied to the previously prepared
substrate ensuring a maximum thickness of 5mm.
 Where the material is used to fill voids and blowholes the excess shall be scraped off with
the edge of the steel trowel.
6.2.2. Major honeycombs, deep holes, larger voids

 Surface defect if reinforcement is exposed those area will be packed with Non – shrink
grout (GP2 ).
 Grouting nozzles shall be fixed on the concrete surface at the particular location. After
setting time fixing the grouting nipple, grouting operation shall be carried out.
 The Grout shall be prepared with mix of OPC /PPC & Cebex 100, W/C ratio shall be
maintained not more than 0.45.
 Grout shall be pumped till the time it flows into the structure and the handle of grout
pump get tightened, filling all the gaps inside.
 Once completed and grout is completely set, the projected parts of the nozzles shall be
removed, surface shall be cleaned and finished smooth.
 After setting time of mortar, the curing must be started.
6.3. BULGE / UNDULATIONS IN STRUCTURE
 If Bulge found in structure, excess concrete will be chipped Using light chipping hammers
weighing approximately 7 kg or less to remove the required amount of concrete. Follow
chipping remove this fractured surface.
 Surface will be plastered with Non – shrink grout in proper line & level.
6.3.1. Repair of unformed surface
 If undulation, in an unformed surface in high areas, it will be corrected by using a grinding
machine. The unsound concrete particles must be removed by using hand tools.
 Bonding slurry mixture consists of cement and water will be applied on the pre-wet
substrata. The surface will be plastered with Non – shrink grout (GP2)/rendrocplug, in
proper line & level. Mixing & application to be done as per manufacture spec.
 After setting time for repairing material; the curing must be started.

6.4. CONSTRUCTION JOINT

 Pounding test will be conduct for 24 hr. found any leakage clean the loose particles top and
bottom of slab, PVC nozzle fix bottom of slab then grouting to be done as mentioned in
6.2.2.
 After removing of nozzles again pound test has to be done for 24 Hrs.
7. SECTION –: HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT
 Maintain safe and clean working conditions in all activities related to repairing work.
 Utmost care should be taken to prevent any accident during any activity of repairing work
including, working at height, working with equipment’s containing sharp and rotating parts
etc.
 Tool box talks should be conducted every week explaining possible risks and its control
measures.
 Clean environment should be maintained all around the work place including material
storage area, work location etc. Work area should always be maintained free of any debris,
stagnating water etc.
8. SECTION –: ENCLOSURES
 Checklist or Non-Conformity Format.
