Methods schools and universities should adopt to ensure that students do not suffer from

stress during the exam period

For many students, exams are one of the main sources of stress and that can affect their
performance and their grades considerably. For this reason, some schools and universities
believe that students should have a structured revision timetable prior to exams or at least
time for leisure activities and relaxation, but which one of these methods is the most effective?

Unfortunately, students have too many subjects to study in a short period of time which
causes a lot of stress and anxiety. To prevent that, schools and universities could implement a
revision timetable prior to exams, so that students could see precisely what they need to study
more. However, if students are already stressed due to the exam pressure, making revisions 24
hours before the exams it’s only going to make things worse.

Even though most students want to have good grades, they shouldn’t forget about relaxation
and leisure activities to reduce stress. For example, if you only study and think about the
exams, you are more likely to get a bad result. On the other hand, students also need to have a
good time control and to find a balance between the study and leisure time otherwise they
might also get bad grades.

All in all, it is my belief that the most important method is having time for relaxation and
leisure activities since sometimes revisions can increase your stress and anxiety instead of
reducing it.
