 For Example : If first, third and fourth are the ONLY three correct options for a questionwith second
option being an incorrect option; selecting only all the three correct options willresult in +4 marks. Selecting

Paragraph for Question No. 15 and 16
C-frame or centre of mass frame is a frame in which centre of mass of system remains at rest. One of the
simple but very important feature of this frame is that total momentum of system always remains zero. Due to
this freature of this frame, it is very convenient to deal with collision of two bodies in this frame. Let us
 
consider an elastic head-on collision between two bodies having before collision momenta p1 and p2 . In
 
centre of mass frame if one of the body has momentum p' then other must have  p' . If after collision one
 
body has momentum p'' then other must have  p '' in C-frame. Also since K.E. remains conserved before
and after collision, so p'2  p"2 p' = –p" (p' p") so we conclude in head-on elastic collision, in C-frame,
velocities of colliding objects simply get reversed.
15. In an head-on perfectly inelastic collision (e = 0), which of the following diagram represents momenta of
