FLOORWORK

In dance, floorwork refers to


movements performed on the floor.
Floorwork is used extensively in
modern dance.
HIP ROLL
Rolling on the floor using the hip in a circular movement
JAZZ SLIDE
Sliding sidewards of the floor with extended compass arms position
KICK BALL CHANGE
One-foot kicks either forward, to the side or to the back, and then is brought
behind for a ball change step
SUSI-Q
A figure in which the hands are clasped in front of the body at knee level with the body
poised forward from the waist and the dancer moving sideways with the arms swinging in
opposition.
RONDE JAMBE
A circular movement of the leg going backward.
POP CORN
Popping the right and left foot diagonally and alternately with the opposite arm pulling or
swinging. It is performed originally in hip-hop and one of the considered basic moves.
TRENCH
The trench is a great intermediate tap-dancing technique to know for old fashioned
choreography. It is the tapping and switching of foot in the back with the arms swinging,
waving, swaying alternately.
PIRMITIVE SQUAD
Hopping on both feet to the front in a deep second position parallel.
INSTRUCTIONS:

• Each of you must be in your P.E attire. (jogging pants and round neck t-shirt)
• Find a place where you can move properly and has a good lightning.
• The teacher will be the one who will assign a “jazz step” for you to demonstrate.
• Open your camera and microphone when it is your turn to perform.
• If you were called and did not respond within 10 seconds you will be marked
absent.
• You’ll earn 1.0 when your demonstration is correct and 5.0 when it’s incorrect.
