Valve timing procedures
Ensure crankshaft pulley and timing chain cover TDC marks aligned [1] .
Ensure camshaft sprocket timing mark aligned [2] .
If not, turn crankshaft pulley 360°.
Fit timing chain ensuring yellow links aligned [2] & [3] .
Reset timing chain tensioner:
Turn lever to unlocked position [4] .
Press plunger [5] into tensioner body.
Turn lever to locked position [6] .
Lock tensioner in retracted position with pin [7] .
Remove pin [7] to release timing chain tensioner plunger.
Check chain for wear:
Fully stretch chain.
Replace chain if length between 16 links exceeds 144,3 mm [8] .
Check sprockets for wear:
Fit timing chain to crankshaft sprocket.
Replace sprocket and chain if diameter 'X' at chain rollers is less than 69,1 mm [9] .
Fit timing chain to camshaft sprocket.
Replace sprocket and chain if diameter 'X' at chain rollers is less than 132,6 mm [9] .
Check chain guides for wear: Maximum 1,0 mm.
If camshafts removed:
Ensure timing marks on rear of camshaft gears aligned during installation [10] .
