Data Protection Agreement and User Policy
1. General information
1.1 https://www.bewerbung.ipk-gatersleben.de is the job application
portal (»PORTAL«) at the Leibniz Institute of Plant Genetics and Crop
Plant Research (IPK).
1.2 The portal is operated by the IPK and hosted on one IPK-Server at the
IPK-Campus, Corrensstraße 3, 06466 Seeland OT Gatersleben.
1.3 The IPK is entitled to discontinue this portal at any time or to delete
your data wholly or partially without giving any reason.
1.4 You will find IPK’s general data protection statement in the legal notice
section of our website.
1.5 Should the IPK change its data protection statement, changes will be
mentioned accordingly on the start screen of the application portal.
2. Submitting your application
2.1 In order to take part in the selection process for an open position
through the use of this portal, you must first submit your personal data
to the IPK:
a) The mandatory fields should only be used to transmit data relating
to the selection process.
b) The other fields may be used to provide further useful informati-
on.
c) Please upload your complete application in the appropriate field.
2.2 By sending your application, you will also be giving your consent to
have your personal data saved and processed electronically.
2.3 If desired, you can have your data stored in our IPK applicant pool for
a maximum of 6 months so that we can contact you regarding other
vacancies at the IPK. For this, we need your written consent, which
you can send us at any time via e-mail to jobs@ipk-gatersleben.de.
2.4 After submitting your application, you will receive a registration confir-
mation via e-mail.
3. Data information and changes
3.1 You may request information regarding your personal data stored in
the portal.
3.2 You may have your personal data stored in our portal updated, amen-
ded, blocked, or deleted.
3.3 You may have your personal data deleted at any time. Please note that
this will also withdraw your online application.
3.4 For further information and changes to your personal data, please
contact our personnel office at jobs@ipk-gatersleben.de.

4. Content
4.1 Please make sure that you do not upload any attachments containing
a virus or computer worm.
4.2 You are solely responsible for the data you are submitting.
4.3 Information that you submit to the IPK must be true and may not viola-
te any rights of third parties or laws.
4.4 Personal data that you submit to us should not contain any information
regarding:
a) diseases,
b) possible pregnancy,
c) ethnic background,
d) union affiliation or sexual orientation,
e) political, religious, or philosophical views.
5. Purpose, selection decision, and deletion
5.1 The IPK will store and process your personal data transmitted through
the job application portal:
a) only for the selection process of the position you have applied for
and not for other purposes.
b) for solely internal and statistical use without personal references.
5.2 The IPK treats your personal data as strictly confidential and will not
transmit your data to third parties.
5.3 Only officials within the IPK who are directly involved in the respective
selection process will have access to your personal data.
5.4 The involved staff at the IPK will be making all selection decisions
themselves:
a) If you are hired, the personnel office will be responsible for your
data.
b) In case you are not hired, your personal data will be deleted after
the selection process is finished (usually after 6 months).
6. Data security and communication
6.1 The IPK secures your applicant data transferred to the portal through
a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption, firewalls, hacker defense
programs, and manual security precautions.
6.2 The IPK is not liable for any loss of data and recommends that you
make security copies for the transmitted data.
6.3 The IPK will send you messages in the form of encrypted e-mails to
the personal e-mail address you have specified in the portal.
6.4 In your own interest, please ensure that only you have access to this
e-mail address.
