PRE-LESSON :

they like it? Who would they recommend should see the
film?
4. Selected pairs share their answers
LESSON : PHASE 1:
DEVELOPMENT 5. Pupils look at the poster of Ola Bola film accompanying the
text on the same page.
6. Pupils answer several questions asked by the teacher:
Have you seen or heard about this film? Did you like it?
What do you know about it? What kind of film is it?
7. Pupils look at the layout of the text and state what they
think it is (Answer: A review of Ola Bola).
8. Pupils read through the questions in Activity B and ask any
questions if necessary.
9. Pupils read through the film review and underline any
unknown words.
10. Pupils answer the questions in Activity B and then check
answers with the class.

PHASE 2:
11. Pupils read through the writing task in Activity D on page
93 and state what they have to write.
12. Pupils read through the Plan and Tips Boxes.
13. Pupils listen to teacher’s explanation about the structure
and the parts of a film review as well as the set phrases /
expressions they can use
14. Pupils think about the main points of their review and
create their own plan with a brief explanation of the ideas
in each paragraph.
15. Help pupils make a plan of the film they have chosen to
write about by writing the following on the board.
16. Pupils copy it, complete the general information about the
film and then tick the boxes according to their impressions
of the film.
17. Allow pupils some time to write their film reviews
according to their plans.
18. Selected pupils read out their film reviews.
19. Pupils talk in the last 5 minutes of the lesson about a film
they haven’t seen but want to see (Why do they want to
POST-LESSON : see it? Have they read any good reviews? Have their
friends already seen it and recommended it?)
