When humans began to recognize agriculture, there was a fundamental change in the

pattern of community life. They no longer live a nomadic life, but settle down and
live in small villages which are usually located near water sources.
The choice of sedentary life then raises awareness to build a rule to regulate
life together. This is because the agricultural community in general requires
solidarity. Mutual cooperation is needed, for example in terms of making simple
technology, such as containers from pottery or agricultural tools that are stronger
and more durable.
This group that began to settle in its development formed simple villages with
agriculture as the main basis of its economy. In the village structure, apart from
the need for a number of rules to regulate living together, a person in charge of
ensuring the implementation of these rules is also needed. Therefore, from the
members of their own group, one person was chosen who was considered to have
advantages over the others to become a leader. The advantages are for example in
terms of physical strength, authority, and the ability to solve problems. This
leader is commonly known as primus interpares (the first among the same).
