1. GENERAL
1.1. ATIS
D-ATIS 128.3

1.2. SURFACE MOVEMENT GUIDANCE AND CONTROL SYSTEM


Flight crew shall from the request for push-back or taxi whichever is earlier, and
after landing, continuously until the ACFT is fully parked on stand:
- Select AUTO mode and the assigned Mode A code. If AUTO mode is not availa-
ble, the pilots shall select XPNDR or the equivalent depending on installed
equipment, and the assigned Mode A code.
- Set the ACFT identification if the ACFT is equipped with Mode S transponder.
The ACFT identification to be used is specified in Item 7 of the ICAO ATC
flight plan.
- Operation of transponder without an assigned Mode A code is not allowed.

1.3. TAXI PROCEDURES


1.3.1. STOP BARS
Stop bars are used 24/7 for all RWYs - active RWYs as well as inactive.
Crossing of a lit stop bar is prohibited.
Traffic may proceed only with explicit clearance from ATC and only after the stop
bar has been switched off.
Any instructions to cross a lit stop bar should be challenged. If a stop bar is out
of service, the following contingency measures are in force:
If the stop bar cannot be switched off:
- An alternative taxi route where the stop bars are functioning will be used
primarily.
- If an alternative taxi route is not available, ATC will have the lights of the
stop bar switched off or covered (reaction time up to 15 minutes).
If the stop bar cannot be switched on or the lights of the stop bar have been
switched off or covered:
- An alternative taxi route where the stop bars are functioning will be used
primarily.
- If an alternative taxi route is not available, ATC will use specific RTF with
the explanation that the stop bar is out of service.
The following phraseology will be used:
[CALLSIGN] TAXI HOLDING POINT RWY [RWY (number)] BE ADVISED STOP BAR
AT [TWY (name) HOLDING POINT] UNSERVICEABLE, HOLD SHORT [RWY
(number)], I SAY AGAIN: STOP BAR [TWY (name) HOLDING POINT]
UNSERVICEABLE.

1.4. PARKING INFORMATION


Taxiing under own power on stands 55, 57, 59 and 61 is only permitted for direct
nose-in parking. ACFT parked on those stands shall be pushed back or towed into
TWY K-3. Engine start-up with caution due to jet blast hazard.

RWY 01 and 19 right-hand circuit.
On the apron, ACFT shall not be moved without coordination from Tower.
During peak hours a final control position will normally be responsible for final
sequencing using speed control and vectoring with on demand frequency
119.150 MHz.
Initial call on 119.150 MHz state callsign only.

2. ARRIVAL
2.1. CAT II/III OPERATIONS
RWY 10 and 19 approved for CAT II operations, special aircrew and ACFT certifi-
cation required.

3. DEPARTURE
3.1. PUSH-BACK PROCEDURES
When the pilot requests push-back clearance from ATC, the ACFT shall be ready
for immediate departure from the gate.
Permission to push-back or taxi-out from a stand or position must not be
requested unless the tractor/ACFT is ready to perform the maneuver immedi-
ately. At the same time the anti-collision beacon shall be turned on.
Start-up of engines is allowed as soon as push-back has commenced, providing
that it has been ensured that it creates no danger.
It is recommended that the Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) shall be turned off no
later than 15 minutes after the ACFT is on block and not started up earlier than
15 minutes before departure.
If the outside temperature is 0^C or lower, the use of APU is permitted in order
to heat up the cabin.
Furthermore, it is permitted to start up one engine at the gate, if the APU is
inoperative.

3.2. JET BLAST HAZARD


Use of release points shall be in accordance with the following instructions.
Any deviations shall be coordinated with ATC.
ACFT on stands 1, 3, 5, 7 and 46 shall use tug release-point 9. ACFT on stands 2,
4, 6 and 8 shall use tug release-point 5. Jet blast hazard at terminal building if
ACFT is released before this release-point.

NIGHTTIME RESTRICTION
Between 2200-0700LT touch and goes or low approaches will not be approved for RWYs
10/28.

DEPARTURES
All RWYs: Use NADP 2 during climb-out.
Between 2300-0700LT ACFT may be vectored away from the most densely populated
areas in SOUTHWEST Iceland.

RUN-UP TESTS
High power run-ups shall normally be made on the closed TWY SOUTHWEST of RWY
intersection. They will not be approved MON-SAT 2200-0700LT and from SAT 2200-
SUN 1200LT unless in unconventional cases.
