1. The following graph gives frequency distribution of all lottery winners’ age that participated in
Fortune lottery event

a) Find the total number of participants that won the lottery. 2 marks
b) What is the mean age of lottery winners. 4 marks
c) What percentage of participants is aged 50 or lower? 3 marks
d) Find the standard deviation and explain. 4 marks

2. Let’s assume that 18-year-old males have mean height of 69.6 inches and standard deviation of
1.4 inches.
a. Using Chebyshev’s theorem find, at least what percentage of 18 year old males will have
height between 66.1 -73.1 inches. 5 marks
b. find the interval that contains the marks of at least 80% of all 18 year old male. 5 marks
c. If the distribution is bell-shaped/normal then approximately what percentage of all such
men will have heights between 68.2 and 71 inches? 5 marks
3. A telephone poll conducted on 1000 adult Bangladeshis in March 2021 asked about current
Covid vaccination status. Out of the 1000 respondents, 630 stated that they have not taken the
Covid vaccine yet. 422 out of these 630 people stated that they have tested positive for Covid.
80 people have tested positive for Covid from group of people who have already taken the
vaccine.

4. In 2020, a nationwide survey reported, 27% of adult Bangladeshis had to bribe the traffic police.
Suppose that this result holds true for the current population of adult Bangladeshis. Suppose
that two adult Bangladeshis are selected at random. Let x denote the number of adult
Bangladeshis in these two who had to bribe the traffic police. Construct the probability
distribution table of x. Draw the graph for probability distribution. 6 marks
