CeracoatDerincoat Information Sheet
Ceracoat and Derincoat are wear resistant composites with high compressive
strength and high wear resistant properties comprising of hard aggregates,
binders and fibres that are mixed together with prefixed measures of water in
a vam mixture to form a compound of required consistency. The final product
thus obtained can be cast or trowelled on to base plate on which expanded
wire mesh has been fixed in position with anchors, or can be spun into pipes
and bends.

Pipes and Bends
In power, steel and cement sectors, abrasive materials are pneumatically or
hydraulically conveyed through pipelines resulting in heavy wear and tear.
This necessitates the use of a protective liner to prevent wear and enhance the
life of pipes, bends, tees, laterals etc. The advantage of using Ceracoat and
Derincoat liners is that it provides a monolythic lined surface without any edge
effects and thus ensures a smooth an uninterrupted flow of material. Local
repairs are easy to carry out during short shutdowns.

Method of manufacture of bends, tees and laterals.
They can either made out of spun pipes or trowelled by using wire mesh and
anchor method. Mitres are cut out of spun pipes and then placed in layout of
required radius and degree, joined and welded together from the outside. The
gaps if any on the inside are filled with ceracoat mix to ensure homogeneity of
material.
