Bs. Crim 2-C

Assignment

1. What is the importance of intelligence?

The importance of intelligence is that it is the ability of a person to acquire

and apply knowledge and skills. When it comes to national security,
intelligence is the information that allows the police to solve cases and
make arrest that can lead to successful prosecution in the court, that’s why
it’s important. Acquiring intelligence is very important especially on
investigating crimes or criminals it helps the investigation much easier and
more credible during making an arrest.

2. In what case or activity does intelligence needed?

Intelligence is needed during an investigation to crimes or criminals.this are

some of examples where intelligence is much needed; illegal drug
trafficking, human trafficking, gangs, motor vehicle thefts, burglaries and
much more.

3. In the history of intelligence, why do you think Sun Tzu considered as the
Father of Intelligence?

For me it might be the experience of Sun Tzu on gathering intelligence

effectively. His quotes are really promising and logically true, I’ve not read
the book yet but, reading some of the quotes catches my eye and mind that
he really deserves to be called Father of Intelligence.

4. In the 9/11 bombing, is there a failure of intelligence in that incident?

On my opinion based to what I’ve read about this 9/11 bombing, it is hard to
say if there has been a failure of intelligence for it is hard to know what
every person is thinking but the fact there’s been a smuggled box-cutters
and knives that got through based on what I’ve read we can say that there
is a little failure in that. Yes the national security might know all the files
about the person who’s on board but the fact that hijackers well planned the
scenarios it is really hard to say that there’s been a failure for it is hard to
detect of what people are thinking and people are great pretender, so for
me there are some parts where they failed on gathering intelligence.

5. In Zamboanga siege why do you think it last the war almost a month.

Bases on my research, it is maybe because of miscommunication of what

must be the better plan to extinguish for a better outcome. There are
statements based on “rappler” information, that the troops can’t act because
of the negotiation between the government and the enemy. They cannot
engage on combat unless they are given the go-signal. And based on the
information, the troops have difficulties on the terrain of the war zone. It’s
been hard for them because maybe they have less information or
intelligence about the enemies ground. And they are maintaining that they
would not hurt the hostages taken by their enemy that’s why maybe, the
war last for almost a month.
