Report (Test 6 - page 187)

This is a report of a One by Wacom pen tablet from the point of view of an 18-year-old
highschool student.

Personal usage

One by Wacom in size medium is the first pen tablet I have bought when I was getting
into digital art and with an affordable price of only 57 euros on Amazon, it still serves
me well after years of constant use. It is compatible with many drawing programs,
including Adobe Photoshop, CorelDRAW, and my personal favourite—Paint Tool Sai. It
also feels natural to use it outside of drawing programs as its pen sits in a hand more
comfortably than a computer mouse. Overall, this pen tablet became an ever-present
extension to my computer using experiences.

Downsides

I would not recommend this pen tablet to anyone more advanced in digital drawing,
since it does have its limitations. First of all, its size is not suitable for those artists that
need a bigger surface, and even if they get a bigger option, the tablet does lag pretty
often. Of course, mistakes created through those lags are erasable, but they can get
annoying, especially for those who work in Photoshop and only have a single undo
possibility. This tablet is extremely durable, though, so it should be taken into
consideration by those who like to keep their drawing equipment mobile.

There is not a need or expectation of mine that is not met by this tablet’s capabilities,
although everyone should weigh its pros and cons for themselves.

Proposal (Test 6 - page 187)

Proposal for featured workplaces

I should like to recommend that the TV company feature our publishing company in
their documentary series about workplaces.

Our area of expertise

Taken into consideration that most people do not know what it takes to publish a book, I
believe this would be a perfect opportunity for curious individuals to learn what skills
our employees have mastered and incorporate them into their own lives. From
marketing and design to developmental editing and proofreading, the viewers will
become more attentive to detail and open to suggestions and critiques. Both of these
shall improve their professional performance. To work at a publishing house, one needs
to be observant to others, as well as their wishes and expectations. This shall have a
positive impact on viewers and how they perceive others.

Approach to our workplace

As I have already stated, our workplace is quite versatile in tasks and what skills our jobs
require. Despite seeming plain and repetitive on a first glance, our jobs are highly
creative and I should like to recommend that they be portrayed as such. Explaining our
goals would make viewers understand our motivations and approaches better. By no
means shall the programme concentrate on the technical parts of our jobs, since that
would limit its reception.

Were I to publish a series of documentary programmes about workplaces, I would make

sure to include a publishing company. Not only would this break the stereotypes, but it
would also introduce many people to their next possible job, and such a beneficial one
too.
