Building Management System for Heating Using Variable Frequency Drive (VFD). 2

1 TECHNICAL SPECIFICS
• Regulates the speed of induction motor according to temperature requirements.

• Controls flow of water according to temperature.

• Controls the thermostatic radiator valve according to room temperature.

• Increases energy efficiency using variable frequency drive.

2 METHODOLOGY
The project is a proposed heating system which screens the room temperature and controls
the dissemination of heated water from kettle to the FCU put in the room without human in-
tercession. This plan utilizes a controller (PLC) and a temperature sensor to screen and control
the temperature of a room. From the start, the client should set the framework temperature to
a reference esteem that the person needs to keep up in that room. The temperature sensor will
at that point sense the encompassing temperature and speaks with the controller (PLC). The
controller peruses the temperature each 10to 15 seconds and contrasts it and the ideal worth.
On the off chance that the deliberate worth is not exactly the ideal worth, at that point the
induction motor as per load through PLC and VFD will be consequently set off ON to heat up
the temperature of the room until it returns back to the ideal worth and turns OFF. This work
will in general plan a basic however productive framework to tackle a perplexing framework.
The requirement for straightforward and financially savvy framework tends towards the part
of designing plan that investigates basic arrangements that address complex frameworks and
furthermore limiting expense of planning a framework by limiting gear and segments in plan.
We have utilized a temperature sensor to detect the temperature of the space to be warmed.
The temperature sensor is then associated with our PLC. A VFD is likewise associated with the
PLC. PLC impels the VFD as indicated by the deliberate temperature to control the speed of
the induction motor. The induction motor at that point siphons the heated water to keep up
the steady room temperature.

3 POTENTIAL GROWTH
In the modern industry, PLC control systems are widely used in many applications, such as
wind energy systems, water treatment control systems, heating ventilating, suntracking sys-
tems, air-conditioning control, manufacturing, photovoltaic applications etc. A common as-
pect of these applications is that they can be formed as processcontrol problems. This project
concerns the temperature and motor control process using PLC and has many applications in

various industries such as food, hospital, plastic, milk, petroleum, and other agriculture indus-
tries[3]. Therefore, this system can be usedto control the temperature of water automatically
with great precision and accuracy. The automatic system reduces labour effort and human er-
rors. The most common industrial control systems are PLCs.
