Work in pairs! One student congratulates another and the other will respond. And then they tell each
other about their past experiences, daily activities and future plans. Pay attention to the following
example:

Congratulating someone on his/her birthday

A: Happy birthday! Where did you celebrate your birthday?

B: Thank you, but I didn’t celebrate it. I was just at home last Sunday.

A: Were you? I was too. But I’m going to go to the cinema next Sunday.

B: Well, so am I. But I won’t watch the midnight film.

A: Neither will I. I never watch night films.

B: But sometimes I do.

A: So, do you want to go together?

B: of course! That would be fun! Would you want to ask another friends?

A: Well, i ask gemma before, but she have another plan. Meybe it’s just me and you.

B: Ohh, it’s okey. That would be fun to! Okey see you on the day!

A: Okay, Thanks! See you too!

1. Congratulating someone on his or her graduation day

A: Hey, I heard that you graduated last day! Congratulation, you did it good job!
B: Hey, Oh my god thanks! Everyone is really update, im so happy.
A: Yeaa, im so happy for you too! So, you really have fun that day?
B: Yes of course! Everyone were really happy. Thank you soo much, i appreciate that!
A: It’s okay!
2. Congratulating someone for getting a job
A: Finally! Im getting a job!
B: Do you? Alhamdulillah. Congratualation, im so happy for you!
A: Alhamdulillah, thank you so much. You helped me a lot!
B: It’s okay, im so happy doing that.
A: Ehmm! That’s not enough. We have to celebrate it! It’s on me okay!!
B: Well, is that so… Okey lets celebrate it!

3. Congratulating someone on his/her wedding day

A: Oh my god, really beautifull you are!!
B: Ahh thanks!! Thank you for coming. I thought that you wouldn’t come
A: Of course not!! I want to see you on your special day. Congratulation! You and your soulmate
is so goergeous today!! I hope that you both have a happy live!
B: Thank you very very much. Im so happy today, im so happy that you finally come!
A: Im so happy for you too!

4. Congratulating someone on giving a birth to her baby

A: So cute, what is his name?
B: Yess thank you, his name is Sota
A: Congratulation!! Im so happy for you, you did it so good job. Look His face is so similar with
you! And also his father. Hahaha
B: Thank you very much! Of course he is. Hahaha. Thank you for coming
A: Oh no problems, im so happy for coming to see you both and this little handsome!
B: Hmmm, okey. That so sweet you are

5. Congratulating someone for buying a new car

A: Woww! This is your finally dreams come true!!
B: Yea broo!
A: Congratulation broo! This is so stunning
B: Yea thanks bro. So cool is it? You have to try it, the car! Hahaha
A: Oh my god! Is it okay? Your car is so so cool you know. Did you believe it?
B: O course not bro. This is, yea this is my finally dream come true! Thank you for the help
A: it’s okay man! This is absolutely cool!
