LOVELIFE OR EDUCATION: WHAT

SHOULD BE PRIORITIZED?

Oftentimes, at this tender age of ours, we usually have a hard time choosing between
love and education but one thing I am sure of is that education should be prioritized than
getting involved in any romantic feelings as education is about our future and this is the
present that we need to aspire. Education is long-lasting, it sets us to our priorities than
love which divides our time and responsibility, choosing education over love life is an
opportunity to be enriched as a person.

Education is more important than a love life. It should be prioritized because

education as knowledge is the ultimate power in the universe and it is eternal while love
may be powerful but there is no guarantee on just how long it will last. Education will
always be with us, look at the discoveries which have been found thousand years ago,
take a glimpse of the inventions which were invented. Without being educated, we can
not be in our place right now. That's what civilization at the start of 4000 and 3000 BCE is
trying to tell us— without the knowledge we would still be on the primitive side of the
world. That is, education will never lose in life.
Nowadays, love isn’t something that lasts longer. Usually, as we rush love things turn
more drastic at the end because at a young age it seems like we're in heaven but in the
middle of the relationship or even marriage, people would realize that they fall out of love.
Actually, 5.2% in 1993 to 14.5% in 2013 is the dissolution rate among Filipinos. Married
couples who have already separated and cannot reconcile anymore increased from 43%
in 2005 to 60% in 2014 (Abalos 2014; PSA and ICF 2014). This marriage crisis is the result of
young love.
Our Education gives us our career which gives us confidence and independence.
Lovelife just only divides our time and responsibilities. Lovelife at a young age can not give
us food, it rather adds up to our burden.
In 2019, the Philippines has recorded a total of 180, 916 live births among adolescents aged
10-19. According to NPR.ORG 2020, the main reason for the high teenage pregnancy rate
would be the lack of education and so education should be mattered than love life.
Lastly, Education is an opportunity to be enriched as a person. Students should just
focus on their studies and leave relationships out of their minds, saying that it will come
eventually. There is no need to rush and what is more important is to complete our
studies.

Hence, Education should prevail. There are a lot of reasons why we need to prioritize
our studies than pursue a love life one of them is for our sake as a better individuals and as
a child. Education provides us opportunities to learn and become better citizens. It is a
very evident choice to a good life in the future.
