Arabic Vowels

 The Arabic vocalic system has three pairs of phonemes, three long vowels and
three short vowels.
 Arabic vowels never occur word initially.
 They freely occur word finally and word medially.

English Vowels

 The English vocalic system is more complex than the Arabic system.
 English has more vowels than Arabic (12 to 6).
