Parts List

Number
Quantity Description
(on drawing above)
1 1 Outer skin bottom
2, 3 2 Outer skin top (left and right)
4, 5 2 Outer shape formers (sandwich)
6,7 2 Inner shape formers (sandwich)
8 1 or 2 Fin - make 1 or 2 as you like
9 4 Elevons make 4 and glue together in pairs
Note: The fin and elevon sizes are guides only - make the fin/s as small as you dare and the elevons as big as you dare!

Construction

Note: Read all steps below before starting construction as radio and motor installation is not covered as each installation differs. I try to mount the RX inside the foam,
covered by a hatch.

1. Lay out a sheet of depron with the grain as shown above

2. Cut the individual components with a sharp knife
3. Apply 50mm tape along the joins between pieces 1&2 and 1&3 being careful to get a close fit (note clean all taped areas with rubbing alcohol or methylated spirits
and let dry prior to applying tape)
4. Turn the assembly over then glue part 4 onto part 1 the correct setback from the nose (5mm on the normal size) I use photo mount double-sided tape (the clear
one that seems to have only adhesive) to glue the triangles together but you can use any depron-safe adhesive.
5. Glue parts 6&7 onto part 4 to form a sandwich. The setback from the nose is 30mm on the normal size Pibros.
6. Glue part 5 overlaying part 7 but aligning with part 4. The edges will hang over - this is normal, bend them down to meet part 4. This sandwich made in steps 4, 5
and 6 give the airfoil shape to the wing.
7. Apply liberal double-sided tape to all visible surfaces then carefully fold parts 2 and 3 back along the tape lines nd trim the centre to get them to meet accurately.
This completes the wing shape.
8. If you intend to power the Pibros, consider adding a length of flat carbon strip along the trailing edge for strength.
9. Glue the elevons (part 9) together into pairs and shape to get a thinner trailing edge and a chamfered leading edge.
10. Lay the elevons inverted on the fuse and tape along their length (hinge line) with 50mm tape
11. Flip the elevons down at least as far as you want them to travel and tape along the hinge line again from the top. This completes teh hinge.
12. Cut slot/s for the fin/s and mount them.
13. Complete radio installation, get CG correct and set elevons to have slight up-elevator at neutral. This 'reflex' is essential for good flight - but not too much! I use
about 3mm or so.
14. Set elevator and aileron travel as desired. I use as much as I can get - about 45 degrees on elevator and 60 degrees on aileron. This makes a twitchy but very
responsive model!
15. Go fly!
