CELEBRATIONS ASKED: EID, CHRISTMAS

1)Could you brief us about the celebrations of EID?


On asking this she said that the celebration begin almost a month
ago with rigorous fasting of 12-14 hours without food and even SHEER KURMA
water. Then on the day of EID, people go to the mosque do the
EID-NAMAZ which is called as QURBAT and then they prepare a
sweet dish called as SHEER KURMA made up of dry fruits and
wheat noodles and also prepare MUTTON BIRYANI.

2)After fasting for almost a month, what impact do you think it


has on the body?
On asking this she said that it indeed detoxifies the body as well Mutton Biryani
as one's soul. It provides mental peace as the entire month one
indulges himself in praying devoutly to God. Also, the skin
becomes a lot more healthier and fresher

3)What impact do you think these kind of family gatherings


is left on small children?
On asking this she said that through these celebration
children get to know their family member and tend to grow in
a social environment and get to realize that they are not
alone and are encompassed by so much of love and care of
other family members. She also that religious festivals are
also very good source of social harmony among family
members.

4)What other celebration do you like celebrating with your


family members ?
On asking this she said that she mainly enjoys celebration of
her sons birthdays especially she feels very elated when she
sees her sons enjoying their time

1)How is the festival of Christmas celebrated? What are you views against it?
On asking this she said that Christmas is not a festival as such as it doesn't begin on the 25th of
December. It begins right from the onset of the month of December. She said that the purpose of
celebrating Christmas is to give others. It's all about how much one can give to others, how much
happiness and smiles and love and care one can spread and bring about is what is Christmas

2)When carols are being sung by the parents during Christmas, what impact do you think is left on
the children?
On asking this she said that she may not definitely say whether the children of today's age will like
the old carols sung by their parents or not. But she says if the carols are brought to them in a different
way like adding some remix, they will definitely like it because each carol has a specific message
which when inculcated in the children surely leaves an impact.

3)As Christmas when not viewed as a religious festival does bring about so many social changes in
the society, so do you think it should be celebrated across the globe no matter of people's religion ?
On asking this she said that if people are asked to celebrate it as a religious festival, they may not
celebrate it. But they are made aware that Christmas is all about giving and if the values are brought
to the people, they make like to celebrate. She said it's all about how we view a particular celebration
and try to inculcate it's values.

4)Is there any other festival that you and your family love celebrating?
On asking this she said that for them each and every day is a celebration. Each peaceful day is a
celebration especially in these COVID times. And talking about family gatherings, she said her family
loves celebrating Easter and Good Friday.

5) Do you think that people should consider celebrating each and every festival not based on their
religion but trying to inculcate the good values of that festivals?
On asking this she said that she does agrees to the statement and believes that one should enjoy each
and every festival with a social perspective and not bringing religion into picture. She gave the
example of HOLI and by saying that people across the country celebrate it regardless of their religion
maybe because they enjoy throwing colours on each other. In the similar way, she said that everyone
should try to enjoy every celebration.

1)What is the story behind celebrating Ganesh Chaturti?


On asking this she said its celebrated on the account of Lors Ganesha's birthday. Lord
Ganesha was created by Parvati out of dirt from her body to guard her in the absence
of Shiva. She gave him the task of guarding her bathroom door while she took a bath.
In the meantime, Shiva returned home and Ganesha, who didn't know who Shiva was,
stopped him. This angered Shiva and he severed Ganesha's head after a tiff between
the two. Parvati was enraged when she came to know about this; Lord Shiva, in turn,
promised to get Ganesha back to life. The devas were sent to search for a child's head
facing north but they could only find an elephant's head. Shiva fixed the elephant's
head on the child's body, and that how Ganesha was born. The whole story of how
Lord Ganesha was
2)Why are asked to pray to Lord Ganesha to receive more knowledge? formed
On asking this she said that Lord Ganesha is considered as the God of wisdom and
prato him with devotion it is believed that he'll bless us with knowledge and wisdom.
she also said this praying is done not only with studies but also while starting any
important work as he is believed to be bless us with success and prosperity.
