If information is required beyond the instructions in this manual, contact
ABB as follows:
Faults
This fault initiates two records in the fault buffer: the fault class identification (this message) and
a related fault message with specific information.
Check for defective component and repair / replace it.

FaultClass ARU

Related Parameters Related IO
The gas generated during a fault in an oil-cooled transformer is collected in the gas relay, which
is located in a tube between the oil conservator and the main tank. The gas displaces the oil in
the relay and a minor gas generation causes the closing of the alarm contact. If a substantial
amount of gas is generated or the oil level drops, first the alarm contact closes, followed by the
tripping contact. Unusual oil flow from the transformer into the oil conservator causes the
immediate closing of the tripping contact. If the trip is active, the transformer is immediately
disconnected from the grid (MCB opens).
Rectification Check the transformer.
Check wiring and parameter settings.
See transformer documentation for further instructions on fault finding.

Poor cable grounding or shielding between current transducer and CVMI / ADCVI.
Fiber optic link between CVMI / ADCVI and INT disturbed.
Faulty CVMI / ADCVI.
Faulty current scaling print (SCA) on CVMI / ADCVI.
Faulty encoder (if applicable).
Rectification Check with datalogger for real overcurrent.
If a "INT0 Overcurrent" fault appears alone or in combination with a "Link X Lost", check
communication link CVMI / ADCVI INT.
If a "INT0 Overcurrent" fault appears together with "Overcurrent", there is a real overcurrent
situation.
Check wiring between CVMI / ADCVI and current transducer.
Check current transducer.

Overspeed and frequency limiter settings should be slightly below the frequency trip limit
(internal parameter, not accessible) and speed limits should be slightly below overspeed limit.
For details of speed controller tuning see parameter groups 23 and 24.

Related Parameters Related IO
The water circulates between water-cooled components with different electrical potential, to
prevent electrolysis currents which would damage the pipe work. The permitted conductivity of
the water is limited.
Water conductivity is received as 4...20 mA signal from conductivity sensor B12 via X2.6, X2.7 to
analog input AI04-IOEC1.
