using a table below for each case to know their similarities and differences (total of three tables).

Case #1: Magellan’s Testimony A Testimony B

Similarities
Magellan arrived at the Philippines. Magellan reached the Philippines.

Differences
Testimony A states that Ferdinand
Magellan set foot on March 16, 1521.
There were others like him who has been
in the country before. He took an unknown
route, the Pacific, because the Indian route
was under Portugal
While testimony B states that, Ferdinand
Magellan was a European navigator who
was hailed as the “first man to reach the
Philippines”.He didn’t complete his
circumnavigation due to his death in
Mactan.

Case #2: The Battle Testimony A Testimony B

of Manila
Similarities
The Battle of Manila is the focus of both testimonies.

Differences
According to Testimony A, the incident
occurred in 1899 at San Juan Bridge, where
Pvt. Anastacio Felix, a Filipino lieutenant,
was shot and killed by William Grayson, an
Englishman.
The incident that led to the Filipino-
American War, according to Testimony B,
occurred at the intersection of Sociego
and Silencio Streets. The initial battle
finally made its way to the San Juan
Bridge.

Case #3: Philippine Testimony A Testimony B

Public School
Similarities
Education was established even before.

Differences
According to Testimony A, due to the
Decree Act of 1863, the Spanish were the
ones who established several schools.
Establishing public schools for both boys
and girls. Manuel Louis Quezon has
attested to this.
The Philippine Public School system,
according to Testimony B, was introduced
by the American military, with teachers
imported from the United States riding
aboard the USS Thomas.
