Welcome!
This unit of competency, “Assemble Electronic Products” is the one
of the competencies of ELECTRONIC PRODUCTS ASSEMBLY AND
SERVICING NC II, this course is designed to develop & enhance the
knowledge, skills, & attitudes of an Electronic Products Technician, in
accordance with industry standards.
The module, Assembling Electronic Products, contains training
materials and activities related to identifying learner’s requirement,
preparing session plan, preparing basic instructional materials and
organizing learning and teaching activities for you to complete.
In this module, you are required to go through a series of learning
activities in order to complete each learning outcome. In each learning
outcome are Information Sheets, Self-Checks, Task Sheets and Job
Sheet. Follow and perform the activities on your own. If you have questions,
do not hesitate to ask for assistance from your facilitator.
Remember to:

 Work through all the information and complete the activities in each
section.
 Read information sheets and complete the self-check. Suggested
references are included to supplement the materials provided in this
module.
 Most probably your trainer will also be your supervisor or manager.
He/She is there to support you and show you the correct way to do
things.
 You will be given plenty of opportunity to ask questions and practice
on the job. Make sure you practice new skills during regular working
shifts. This way you will improve both your speed and memory and
also your confidence.
 Use the Self Checks, Operation Sheets or Job Sheets at the end of
each section to test your own progress.
 When you feel confident that you have had sufficient practice, ask you
trainer to evaluate you. The results of your assessment will be
recorded in your Progress Chart and Accomplishment Chart.
You need to complete this module before you can perform the next module.

MODULE TITLE: ASSEMBLING ELECTRONIC PRODUCTS

MODULE DESCRIPTOR: This module covers the outcomes required in


assembling electronics products. It consists of competencies to prepare
to assemble electronics products, prepare/make PCB modules, mount
and solder electronic components, assemble electronic products, test
and inspect assemble electronic products.

NOMINAL DURATION: 140hrs

LEARNING OUTCOMES:
At the end of this module you MUST be able to:
1. Prepare to assemble electronic products
2. Prepare/ Make PCB modules
3. Mount and solder electronic components
4. Assemble electronic products
5. Test and inspect assembled electronic products

ASSESSMENT CRITERIA:
1. PCB layout is verified for conformity with the schematic diagram in
accordance with the lay out rules
2. PCB layout is transferred to copper-cladded board following
acceptable methods and standards
3. Visual inspection is performed based on standards procedures
4. Thru-hole is drilled based on standards procedures
5. PCB is cleaned based on standards procedures
6. Functionality of PCB is tested and visual inspection is performed
based on standards procedures

Conditions

The participants/students/trainees must be provided and will have access


to:

1. Personal Protective (e.g. protective googles eye wear, antistatic wrist


wrap, gloves)
2. Electronic laboratory hand tools (assorted pliers, assorted screw
drivers, soldering iron and desoldering tool, multitester, cable tester,
crimper)
3. Sufficient lighting and ventilation
