IMPORTANT
This manual is edited for treating mineral oils such as for purifying fuel
oil and lubricating oil.
NOTE: Use only genuine parts on SAMGONG-MITSUBISHI SELFJECTOR and its accessories so
as not to make troubles.
The maker does not take the responsibility for the troubles caused by it.
This manual is a guidebook for users of the self-discharge type oil purifier, the
SAMGONG-MITSHBISHI SELFJECTOR HERCULES SERIES (hereinafter referred to as
the SELFJECTOR).
The SELFJECTOR is a fast rotating centrifugal machine. Before using it, understand detail of
the manual sufficiently.
Handle it safely and so as to bring out the total functions of the SELFJECTOR.
NOTE
The Part 3 of this manuals (Operation Manuals 3) deal with the following types of the automatic control
systems. When you purchase the SELFJECTOR controlled by one of these control systems, the
associated operation manual of Part 3 will be supplied.

7. ALARMS 7-1
Precautions in safety given in the instruction manual are intended to use the product safely and properly
and avoid danger or damage to users. Read carefully the precautions and do not operate, maintain or
handle SELFJECTOR before you are fully acquainted with them.
DANGER: Indicates an imminently hazardous situation which, if not heeded, will result
in death or serious injury.
WARNING: Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not heeded, could result
in death or serious injury.
CAUTION: Indicates a hazardous situation which, if not heeded, may result in minor or
moderate injury or damage to the SELFJECTOR or facilities.
NOTE: indicate precautionary instructions that given contain what must be done without fail
and what should be kept in mind as a guide in operating the SELFJECTOR and doing
related work.
CAUTION
The automatic control panel is a part of the equipment designed for automatic operation of the
SELFJECTOR. Improper handling of the panel could cause malfunctions and jeopardize your
safety. Before operation, maintenance and inspection of the panel, thoroughly read through this
manual and pay special heed to your safety when using the panel.
· Do not attempt disassembly and reworking of the control panel without permission of our
company.
· Before proceeding with wiring, check to ensure that the input power supply to the system is
OFF.
There is danger of an electrical shock.
· Connect the equipment to the hull in an electrically effective way by use of the ground terminal
of the panel.
(Make sure that the equipment is grounded.)
· Check to ensure that the rated voltage and frequency of the panel coincide with those of the
power supply.
The control panel is used for automatic purification of the feed oil by the SAMGONG-MITSUBISHI
SELFJECTOR. It is designed that, if a trouble like an abnormal oil leakage or sludge discharge failure
(failure to open the bowl) occurs during operation, it can stop the supply of the feed oil, and make the
SELFJECTOR stop automatically.
In case of HIDENS operation(HSH-1), the control panel outputs “Feeding” signal to the
Multi-Monitor(MM), and has separated water discharged in response to “alarm (water detection)” signal
from the Multi-Monitor. If the number of times water discharge is detected is abnormally large, the control
panel automatically shuts down the SELFJECTOR after completion of the discharge process. For detailed
information on the Water Detector Function(WD) of the Multi-Monitor, refer to “Operation & Maintenance
Manual”.
The front panel configuration and functions of the automatic control panel are shown below.

WARNING
Verify that the PLC(CPU) is not actively running a process before inserting the memory
card.
Inserting a memory card will cause the PLC(CPU) to go to STOP mode. Unexpected
operation of a process or the SELFJECTOR could result in death or injury to personnel
and/or property damage.
Before inserting a memory card, always ensure that the PLC(CPU) is offline and in a
safe state.
It is therefore necessary to set the timers to match the field conditions. When a test run and adjustments
are performed by SAMGONG service personnel, the timers are set to the proper values suitable for the
field conditions before handover. If the properties and so on of feed oil are changed thereafter, refer to the
following explanations and change the set times properly.

Standard Setting Timers and Counters
Item Model SJ15H SJ25H SJ35H SJ60H SJ85H SJ110H SJ160H SJ220H
NOTE
l Timer settings for sealing water and replacement water in the above list are based on the feed
rate at 7 L/min. for SJ15H/25H/35H, at 12 L/min. for SJ60H/85H and at 16 L/min. for
SJ110H/160H/220HH. For practical setting, always measure the flow rate actually and select
proper values accordingly.
l SELFJECTOR for fuel oil does not have a bowl washing process.
l In case of SJxxHH models, if you want to change from HIDENS operation to purifier operation,
do the following settings.
o Select the gravity disc to match the type of oil to be treated.
(Refer to Operation & Maintenance Manual.)
o Fully close the circulation line backpressure valve attached to the purifier and fully open
the shut off valve.
o Set the Water Detector selector dial to “No Water / heavy liquid detector function” position
and the Water Detection output switch to OFF. (Refer to Operation & Maintenance Manual.)
o Change the operation mode to ‘HBC-1’ on control panel.
Table 5-5
Standard Setting Timers and Counters
Item Model SJ15HH SJ25HH SJ35HH SJ60HH SJ85HH SJ110HH SJ160HH SJ220HH
NOTE
l Timer settings for regulating water and replacement water in the above list are based on the
feed rate at 7 L/min. for SJ15HH/25HH/35HH, at 12 L/min. for SJ60HH/ 85HH and at 16 L/min.
for SJ110HH/160HH/220HH. For practical setting, always measure the flow rate actually and
select proper values accordingly.
l SELFJECTOR for fuel oil does not have no regulating water feeding process and bowl
washing processes.
l the Water Detector is activated after the lapse of monitoring time (C22), total discharge of
sludge and separated water is effected
l SJ15HH discharges the separated water in the total discharge mode on a command signal
from the Multi-Monitor with Water Detector Function.
Example
1) C30 is set to "10", Water detection is 5 minutes after start feeding.
10 x 0.1 x 5 = 5 minutes. The discharge process will start immediately.
(In case of C030 set to "0~10", The discharge process start immediately.)
3) Discharge interval C15 is set to "60" minutes, C30 is set to "15", Water detection is 50 minutes after
start feeding.
15 x 0.1 x 50 = 75 minutes. In this case, the Discharge interval C15 timed up earlier than 75
minutes, and the Discharge process based on the interval timer will start.
At the actual timing of water detection, the partial discharge will be performed when C22 is not timed
up, the total discharge will be performed when C22 is timed up.
Table 5-6
Standard Setting Timers and Counters
NOTE
l Timer settings for sealing water and replacement water in the above list are based on the feed
rate at 1.8L/min. for SJ08, and at 3.5 L/min. for SJ10A. For practical setting, always measure
the flow rate actually and select proper values accordingly.

During feeding operation, a test can be performed to discharge the sludge from inside the bowl freely at
any time regardless of the elapse of the feed time. Push "DIS-TEST" button provided at main display
board on the control panel. After sludge has been discharged, the SELFJECTOR will continue automatic
operation under the original mode.
When "AUTO. STOP" button at main display board on the control panel is pushed, the SELFJECTOR will
automatically stop after going through the replacement water process and then discharging sludge.
(During feed operation, the feed oil supply is first stopped.)
CAUTION
When the SELFJECTOR is shut down because of an emergency, discharge failure (no
opening of bowl) or overload, it will stop operation without discharging the sludge
accumulated in the bowl. If the SELFJECTOR is directly restarted, the bowl might lose
balance and cause a hazardous situation. For this reason, be sure to disassemble the
bowl and remove the sludge according to the instruction manual for the SELFJECTOR
proper before restarting operation.
In cases of emergency, push "Em’cy stop" button provided on the control panel or push “Motor stop”
button on motor starter.. In any of the processes, the power supply to the SELFJECTOR will be
interrupted, and all the valves will close, and the SELFJECTOR will stop operation.
When any of the following alarms occurs, the screen of main display board on control panel will change to
the “ALARM” screen and will transmit an alarm signal to the remote console.
CAUTION
Remove the cause of an alarm before tap the "ALARM RESET" button on ALARM screen.
Tap "ALARM RESET" button provided at “ALARM” screen on main display board to reset the alarm circuit.

was too short.
5. Solenoid valve SV2 or SV3 failed to open because 5. Replace the PLC or aux. relay
of a defective PLC output in the control panel. with a non-defective one.
This alarm occurs when the Discharge Detector Function (DD) of the Multi-Monitor fails to detect
discharge despite the fact that a DISCHARGE SLUDGE signal was sent to the bowl opening
solenoid valves (SV1, SV9 (HSH-1 type only)).
When this alarm occurs, the SELFJECTOR will stop operation immediately.
Table 7-2
3. Solenoid valve SV1 or SV9 failed to open because 3. Replace the PLC or aux. relay
of a defective PLC output in the control panel. with a non-defective one.
This alarm occurs when the water detection count is abnormally high.
When the Multi-Monitor detects the water content in the bowl, its water detection signal is input to
the CPU board and a water discharge operation is effected, when the water detection setting
counter (C27) adds one time to the current count. C27 is reset every time the water detection count
reset timer (C26), which is repetitively actuated during automatic operation, expires. If the water
content of the feed oil is abnormally high, water detection is repeated within a short period of time,
C27 counts up to give an abnormal water content alarm signal. When this signal is issued, the
SELFJECTOR is automatically stopped after discharging sludge.
This alarm occurs when the temperature of the processing oil becomes higher or lower during
feeding operation than alarm setting value. Even if this alarm occurs, the SELFJECTOR will not be
stopped, but be circulation like sludge discharge process. Then the oil temperature return to higher
or lower than alarm setting value, the SELFJECTOR will continue to operate automatically.
To clear the alarm, remove the cause of the alarm. Thereafter, tap the “ALRM RESET” button on
“ALARM” screen.
This alarm occurs when the vibration switch is operated by occurrence of an abnormal vibration in
the SELFJECTOR during feeding operation.
As soon as the alarm occurs, the SELFJECTOR will stop operation immediately.
Disassemble and check the SELFJECTOR and remove the cause of the alarm. Thereafter, push
the “ALARM RESET” button on “ALARM” screen and perform the procedures to restart operation.
