2. OVERVIEW OF AUTOMATIC CONTROL PANEL

The control panel is used for automatic purification of the feed oil by the SAMGONG-MITSUBISHI
SELFJECTOR. It is designed that, if a trouble like an abnormal oil leakage or sludge discharge failure
(failure to open the bowl) occurs during operation, it can stop the supply of the feed oil, and make the
SELFJECTOR stop automatically.

<Automatic Operation Process>

Closes the main cylinder of the bowl

Supplies sealing water (purifier operation) / Supplies regulating water (HIDENS operation)

Supplies feed oil

Supplies replacement water

Opens the main cylinder of the bowl (discharges sludge)

In case of HIDENS operation(HSH-1), the control panel outputs “Feeding” signal to the
Multi-Monitor(MM), and has separated water discharged in response to “alarm (water detection)” signal
from the Multi-Monitor. If the number of times water discharge is detected is abnormally large, the control
panel automatically shuts down the SELFJECTOR after completion of the discharge process. For detailed
information on the Water Detector Function(WD) of the Multi-Monitor, refer to “Operation & Maintenance
Manual”.

The control panel consists of the following devices.

・Purifier controller : PLC(CPU)
・Touch Monitor
・RTD Signal Converter
・Power supply
・Switch
・Fuse
・Relay
・Etc.

This selector switch is used for off / on control of feeding signal output from the control panel to the
Multi-Monitor.
When the MM FUNCTION SWITCH is off position, feeding signal is not outputted from the control
panel to the Multi-Monitor even if SELFJECTOR is on feeding.

(3) STOP - AUTO. Selector Switch

This selector switch is used such as followings.
- STOP : If it turns STOP when the SELFJECTOR would be run automatically,
The SELFJECTOR will run to Auto. Stop operation.
- AUTO. : Turns it to AUTO, when the SELFJECTOR would be ready to run automatically.
Check the motor current(=RPM), oil temp, alarm condition and stop condition.
And then the SELFJECTOR will start to operation automatically.

(4) EM’CY STOP Push Button

When this pushbutton is pressed, it stops the SELFJECTOR directly without normal sludge
discharge and the sludge is accumulated within the SELFJECTOR.
When restarting, be careful. Because it is very dangerous that the sludge within the bowl sometimes
breaks the balance of bowl.
So, use this pushbutton only at emergency condition.

4.4. PLC PROGRAM SOURCE UPDATE PROCEDURE USING SD MEMORY CARD

WARNING
Verify that the PLC(CPU) is not actively running a process before inserting the memory
card.

Inserting a memory card will cause the PLC(CPU) to go to STOP mode. Unexpected
operation of a process or the SELFJECTOR could result in death or injury to personnel
and/or property damage.
Before inserting a memory card, always ensure that the PLC(CPU) is offline and in a
safe state.

To transfer the program to a PLC(CPU), follow these steps:

1. Insert the memory card into the Memory Card Slot at CPU.
If the CPU is in RUN, the CPU will go to STOP mode. The maintenance
(MAINT) LED flashes to indicate that the memory card needs to be evaluated.
2. Power-cycle the CPU to evaluate the memory card. (Rebooting the CPU)
3. After the rebooting and evaluating the memory card, the CPU copies the
program to the internal load memory of the CPU.
The RUN/STOP LED alternately flashes green and yellow to indicate that the
SD MEMORY program is being copied. When the RUN/STOP LED turns on (solid yellow) and
CARD(Option) the MAINT LED flashes, the copy process has finished.
4. And then you must remove the memory card.
5. Reboot the CPU to evaluate the new program that was transferred to internal

SELFJECTOR Instruction Manual 5-3 Operation Manual 3

5.2.1. Discharge timings with Water detection (C30)

(1) Multiplier of separated water discharge time (C30)

In the case of Water detection, CPU delays the separated water discharge for the time of "0.1×C030"
times of elapsed time measured automatically from feed start to the Water detection.

Example
1) C30 is set to "10", Water detection is 5 minutes after start feeding.
10 x 0.1 x 5 = 5 minutes. The discharge process will start immediately.
(In case of C030 set to "0~10", The discharge process start immediately.)

2) C30 is set to "15", Water detection is 5 minutes after start feeding.

15 x 0.1 x 5 = 7.5 minutes. The discharge process will start after 1.5 times of elapsed time from
start feeding to water detection.
(In this case, remaining time after water detection till discharge process is 2.5 minutes.)

3) Discharge interval C15 is set to "60" minutes, C30 is set to "15", Water detection is 50 minutes after
start feeding.
15 x 0.1 x 50 = 75 minutes. In this case, the Discharge interval C15 timed up earlier than 75
minutes, and the Discharge process based on the interval timer will start.

At the actual timing of water detection, the partial discharge will be performed when C22 is not timed
up, the total discharge will be performed when C22 is timed up.

(2) Monitoring of C30 on the Operation Display Panel

Confirm the elapsed value of C30 on lower stage of data display section by calling it.
The value of C30 shown in the lower stage changes to maximum value "9999" automatically at the
time of start feeding, although it is "0000" when operation started.
The discharge predetermined time is shown in the lower stage by the above calculation result at the
Water detection.
In the case of the above "Example 2)", the discharge predetermined time is indicated as "0075".
At this situation, the elapsed time of the Monitoring timer of "C22" is 5 minutes.
Then the discharge process of separated water will be performed when its value reaches to 7.5
minutes.

6.4. SLUDGE DISCHARGE TEST

During feeding operation, a test can be performed to discharge the sludge from inside the bowl freely at
any time regardless of the elapse of the feed time. Push "DIS-TEST" button provided at main display
board on the control panel. After sludge has been discharged, the SELFJECTOR will continue automatic
operation under the original mode.

6.5. AUTOMATIC STOP

When "AUTO. STOP" button at main display board on the control panel is pushed, the SELFJECTOR will
automatically stop after going through the replacement water process and then discharging sludge.
(During feed operation, the feed oil supply is first stopped.)

6.6. EMERGENCY STOP

CAUTION
When the SELFJECTOR is shut down because of an emergency, discharge failure (no
opening of bowl) or overload, it will stop operation without discharging the sludge
accumulated in the bowl. If the SELFJECTOR is directly restarted, the bowl might lose
balance and cause a hazardous situation. For this reason, be sure to disassemble the
bowl and remove the sludge according to the instruction manual for the SELFJECTOR
proper before restarting operation.

In cases of emergency, push "Em’cy stop" button provided on the control panel or push “Motor stop”
button on motor starter.. In any of the processes, the power supply to the SELFJECTOR will be
interrupted, and all the valves will close, and the SELFJECTOR will stop operation.

7. ALARMS

7.1. TYPES OF ALARMS

When any of the following alarms occurs, the screen of main display board on control panel will change to
the “ALARM” screen and will transmit an alarm signal to the remote console.

o "LEAKAGE” alarm – ‘Water seal broken’ alarm

o “ NO-DIS” alarm – ‘No opening of bowl’ alarm
o "HIDENS" alarm – ‘Abnormal water content’ alarm which occurs when the water detection setting
counter C27 expires (HSH-1 type only)
o “T(H)” alarm – ‘Inlet Oil temp.high’ alarm, T(L) – ‘Inlet oil temp. low’ alarm
o “VIBRATION HIGH” alarm – ‘Abnormal vibration’ alarm (Optional specification)

7.2. ALARM RESET

CAUTION
Remove the cause of an alarm before tap the "ALARM RESET" button on ALARM screen.

Tap "ALARM RESET" button provided at “ALARM” screen on main display board to reset the alarm circuit.

7.3. ALARM HISTORY

All of alarms are recorded in alarm history screen at occurring time order. To display the alarm history, tap

7.4. ALARM AND CORRECTIVE ACTION

7.4.1. "LEAKAGE": OIL LEAKAGE ALARM (WATER SEAL BROKEN ALARM)

This alarm will be occurred by the Leakage Monitor Function (LM) of the Multi-Monitor when the light
liquid side pressure falls due to outflow of the feed oil or processed oil toward the heavy liquid side
or sludge chute side of the SELFJECTOR during feeding operation. When this alarm occurs, the
SELFJECTOR will automatically stop operation after discharging sludge.

7.4.2. "NO-DIS": NO OPENING OF BOWL ALARM

This alarm occurs when the Discharge Detector Function (DD) of the Multi-Monitor fails to detect
discharge despite the fact that a DISCHARGE SLUDGE signal was sent to the bowl opening
solenoid valves (SV1, SV9 (HSH-1 type only)).

When this alarm occurs, the SELFJECTOR will stop operation immediately.

reducing valve as required.

7.4.3. "HIDENS": ABNORMAL WATER CONTENT ALARM (HSH-1 Type only).

This alarm occurs when the water detection count is abnormally high.
When the Multi-Monitor detects the water content in the bowl, its water detection signal is input to
the CPU board and a water discharge operation is effected, when the water detection setting
counter (C27) adds one time to the current count. C27 is reset every time the water detection count
reset timer (C26), which is repetitively actuated during automatic operation, expires. If the water
content of the feed oil is abnormally high, water detection is repeated within a short period of time,
C27 counts up to give an abnormal water content alarm signal. When this signal is issued, the
SELFJECTOR is automatically stopped after discharging sludge.

7.4.4. "T(H)": OIL TEMPERATURE HIGH ALARM
“T(L)”: OIL TEMPERATURE LOW ALARM

This alarm occurs when the temperature of the processing oil becomes higher or lower during
feeding operation than alarm setting value. Even if this alarm occurs, the SELFJECTOR will not be
stopped, but be circulation like sludge discharge process. Then the oil temperature return to higher
or lower than alarm setting value, the SELFJECTOR will continue to operate automatically.

To clear the alarm, remove the cause of the alarm. Thereafter, tap the “ALRM RESET” button on
“ALARM” screen.

7.4.5."VIBRATION HIGH": ABNORMAL VIBRATION ALARM

This alarm occurs when the vibration switch is operated by occurrence of an abnormal vibration in
the SELFJECTOR during feeding operation.

As soon as the alarm occurs, the SELFJECTOR will stop operation immediately.

Disassemble and check the SELFJECTOR and remove the cause of the alarm. Thereafter, push
the “ALARM RESET” button on “ALARM” screen and perform the procedures to restart operation.
