scientists , Psychologists—Secondary – youth , parents , psychologists , social scientists
 Purpose – to inform and create an awareness, to expose the influence of social media
 Main idea – concern about the mental health issues faced by children and the youth
 Tone: evokes pathos, appeal to pathos , logos and ethos – voiced by venerated citizen
 Literary features: use of hyper-docs – to provide more information-- scope of digital
media to provide more information, newsworthy , call to action, voice , alludes to social
media events, Biblical allusion- alludes to culture , time , Rhetorical Questions,
 Visuals : photograph angles --subject of the photograph-lone child -high angle shot
justifying vulnerability of children in the present world of

 Main idea – concern about the smoking among children and parents role in helping
their children
 Tone: evokes pathos, appeal to pathos , logos and ethos – voiced by the creator of this
ad campaign -
 Literary features: use powerful imperatives –, call to action, voice , ,
 Layout – image , slogan captures audience attention, copy with added information and
web address / call number makes the campaign authentic and impactful
 Visuals : photograph angles -- long shot to show subjects and surroundings , depicts
isolation, subject of the photograph-background – colour- azure blue – placid water ,
tranquil sky symbolizes hope : They will listen reinforces optimism –contour
 Tone : informal , builds bond with the target audience, the image reinforces the bond
 Mood : empathy , appeal to pathos
 Diction : ‘your’ 2nd person pronoun makes the ad direct address to the reader ,’some’
kids – indefinite number lending ambiguity as to who are they , why they smoke and
