today.” Many people need to believe in themselves. Franklin Delano Roosevelt was born
in Hyde Park, New York. He had a successful and historic life with a great obstacle that he had
to overcome. Enjoying some vacation time in Canada, Roosevelt contracted a paralytic illness.

politics, before the paralytic illness. After that, he continued to hope for a full recovery and
spent months in treatment with exercise and therapy, but he saw no progress. However, he
gradually began to accept that his condition was permanent and he never lost his wits.
Recognizing that he was permanently disabled he continuing to pursue his political career,
Roosevelt decided to run for president of the United States. To maintain an image of strength
and vitality, Roosevelt attempted to conceal his physical limitations. Surprisingly, his disability
to walk never became an issue during his campaign for president in 1932. Franklin preferred
not to speak of it, as he did not want sympathy or pity. As we can see, Franklin Roosevelt had

walk, he became as one of the most respected and memorable presidents in history, people of
the United States feel free to read FDR story because it help them to overcome their
obstacles , all of us need to follow his example. (Franklin Roosevelt was president of the United
