Savant syndrome

Savant syndrome is extraordinary, although it is rare. People with savant

syndrome have a great memory that focuses in one area. For instance, these
people can focus a lot on things like license plate numbers, historical dates,
geography facts, lists of people and the days of the week associated with
specific calendar dates. This dyndrome is a rare condition in people with various
developmental disorders, the condition can be congenital, be acquired later in
childhood, or even in adults. For example, approximately one in 10 people with
autistic disorder has some savant skills. In other forms of development
disability, mental retardation or brain injury, savant skills occur in less than 1%
of such people. To conclude, we cannot define people by their human potential
because they are more than neurons and synapses, we must consider other
important aspects in them such as their talent and the skills they have to do
some things.
