As India moves towards the wide-scale adoption of Electric Vehicles (EVs), the demand for lithium-ion batteries will
increase significantly in the next few decades. In addition, the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) has projected
requirement of 58 –108 GWh of Battery Storage Energy Systems (BESS) for grid scale stationary storage, largely to
meet the grid’s flexibility needs.1
