of Civil Engineering with an intake of 60, Increase of intake of Mechanical Engineering from 90 to 120,
and MBA from 60 to 120 and starting of two post graduate programs namely Signal Processing in
Electronics and Communication Engineering branch and Machine Design in Mechanical Engineering
branch. VVCE fitness center was inaugurated recently. For smooth functioning of college level activities,
various committees have been constituted. A number of training programs are scheduled for holistic
personality development of every student.
Many positive initiatives undertaken have enhanced the teaching and learning process. With the
support of Management, staff and students, we will continue to innovate to provide quality technical
and management education. Let all of us contribute significantly and work harmoniously for the overall
growth of our institute.
I wish all the students and staff a fruitful and rewarding academic year 2013-14.

Induction Programme for I Year PG Students
A formal induction programme for First Year Post Graduate students of 2013-15 batch was
organized on Monday, the 16th September 2013 in Training & Placement seminar hall.
Students of first year MBA and first year M. Tech programs namely Signal Processing in
Electronics and Communication Engineering, CAMS and Machine Design in Mechanical
Engineering were introduced to their new role in VVCE campus. Prof. J. M. Subramanya,
the former Director, SDM-IMD, Mysore, was the chief guest. He advised students on
challenging role that they should accept and gear up to the occasion to combat with the cut
throat competition. He also made the students realize that the days have gone where they
were considered as men and women now they are Ladies and Gentlemen with more
responsibilities and expectations shouldered on them.
Three of our final year students, Rachith, Gaurav & Nikhil Furtado of Mechanical
Engineering successfully teamed up with M S Abhishek (an alumnus of VVCE),
Chetan M Rao & S Manoj (both final year students of NIEIT) and Karan Seth (VP,
Corporate Affairs & Marketing, Mumbai) to turn their dreams to reality. They
developed a product, 3D Printer, the first of its kind for Mysore or even the state, is
an extrusion device which replicates many complicated designs up to a size of
about 20cc. It is novel and has tremendous application potential.
The launch of the product took place on 31st August 2013 at 5:30 pm in Sahukar
Channaiah auditorium. The function was blessed by a galaxy of distinguished
office bearers of the Management of NIE & VVCE together with the Principals of
NIEIT & VVCE. Mr. N Rakesh, a passionate entrepreneur himself, owner of Perfect
Tools and Perfect Profiles was a befitting Chief Guest.
The 3D Printer was put up as one of the exhibits from our college in projects
exhibition organized by VTU, Regional College, Mysore in connection with
International Conference on Technology Management for Green Environment held
from 19th to 21st September 2013. This project was adjudged for the First Prize.
The product developed has been widely appreciated in many newspapers too.
With modest pleasure we wish to state that, with the support of one and all, many
more such flowers will bloom in the Aspera garden of VVCE.
