INTRODUCTION:

HOST CJ: Welcome everyone! Thank you for joining us for today’s webinar. My name is
___________________ and __________________ your hosts this afternoon. Tourism is one of the
sectors hardest-hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, especially in countries where it is a crucial
economic pillar. Digital technologies play a valuable role in helping countries like the Philippines
bounce back and restart tourism activities in the new normal. The Philippine tourism department
has embarked on a digital tourism campaign to promote its tourist attractions and encourage
foreign visitor arrivals once pandemic-related travel restrictions are lifted. However, while this
pandemic will eventually subside, the hospitality industry will never go back to the “old normal.”
When the travel industry recovered after 9/11, customers became acutely sensitive to the risks of
international terrorism, so governments and industry responded with enhanced security
precautions at airports. A similar shift is happening today, as travelers expect much higher
standards of hygiene and show a significantly greater appreciation for social distancing.
Fortunately, there are a variety of self-service technologies that hotels can use to enhance
hygiene, promote social distancing, and provide travelers with a convenient and hyper-
personalized guest experience. For hotels, it can be a clear win-win. Therefore, while facing the
new normal, we assure that the future staff and employee in the field of the hospitality and

tourism industry will gain knowledge about certain things in order to face the new normal. The
Hospitality and Tourism Industry; REBUILDING AND STRENGTHENING THE TOURISM AND
HOSPITALITY PRACTICES IN THIS NEW NORMAL. REBUILDING AND STRENGTHENING THE TOURISM
AND HOSPITALITY IN THIS NEW NORMAL: Transforming for a better future, is designed to give
educate individuals and the future employee in order to adapt the new normal. In addition, it will
also provide a quality service that they can apply in order to meet the standard and satisfaction of
the customers, and for them to cope up with the new normal.

HOST ASH: Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen!. Welcome to our webinar that is entitled "
Rebuilding Tourism and Hospitality Industry : Response, Recovery and Resilience to the New
Normal" anchored on the theme "Rebuilding and Strengthening the Tourism and Hospitality in
the New Normal: Transforming for a better industry"

introduce to us our first speaker , May i call in Ms. Maria Lourdes Melendez, The Mice's Marketing
Head.

Maria Lourdes: Today this task of introducing our guest speaker is a great privilege. She is a wonan
of virtue and simplicity and i feel elated to introduce her to everyone. If one takes a closer look at
the alchemy of the achieving person, two distinct virtues pop up, besides perseverance and
hardwork, these are pioneering spirit and willigness. Our guest speaker today is the living idiom of
a woman who happened to be born at the right time and at the right place. Coupled with an
impressive background, it was not therefore that she became a Director at Regional Office II .
When asked about her, who she is may not be a surprise. After all ,she had become the person she
is now because of her virtues and values that was developed and nurtured in her during her
education at Cagayan State University where in she took up BSCE .
And the woman Im referring is no other than Director Fanibeth T. Domingo. Lets give her a round

Charie Jae:
Last year, we all experienced lockdown due to the pandemic brought by Covid-19. SIR Antonell is
one the people who felt more encouragement and energized to continue his advocacy and that is
to get closer to the needy like the homeless and much less fortunate people. He went to them and
delivered some food for free for them to survive. Putting himself on their shoes and sharing
moments with them always makes him feel happy and satisfied. It is more joyous feeling to know
that all of them knew how to say “thank you”. But he never takes the credit but he always advised
people to always thank the Lord.
SIR Antonell Albano is the Founder and President of the Alliance of Hospitality and Tourism
Movers of the Philippines (AHToMP). Through this, students and educators in the Hospitality
and Tourism Industry who are not capable of availing national and international conventions
because of financial challenges will be able to attend. He believes that AHToMP can be an
instrument to help students and educators by providing free webinars and trainings so they can
cope with the latest trends in hospitality and tourism industry. Furthermore, employees working
in the Hotels, Restaurants, Airlines, Cruise lines and other related Hospitality and Tourism Sectors
and Educational Institutions will also be provided with additional knowledge to improve their
skills through online learnings. The vision of AHToMP is to promote strong solidarity, active service

then he also received different plaques of appreciation given by different State Universities and
Colleges in the Philippines since 2010 as regional speaker in regional events.
He has also achieved an international accreditation like “Certified Hospitality Trainer” and
“Certified Guest Service Professional” by American Hotel and Lodging Association (AHLA) and
American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI) ; “Certified Tourism Professional” and
“Certified Hospitality Professional” by Institute of Tourism and Hospitality Professional based in
United Kingdom. He is one of the Director of Institute of Global Professional, which is based in
Bangladesh. It is a Worldwide Association as a Training Institute.
He graduated Master of Science in Hospitality and Tourism Management at Baliuag University and
now pursuing his Doctor of Philosophy in Business Management major in International Tourism
and Hospitality Management at Philippine Christian University.
Currently, he is a mentor and trainer for eleven years for those students who undergone a
practicum training in hotel, restaurant and other hospitality and tourism field. He extends his arms
to help some students who are not capable to undergo a National Practicum due to insufficient
fund to support their studies and offers scholarship programs and free assessment to those
students who can’t afford it.
He was invited also to different colleges and universities in the Philippines as a resource speaker in
regional events and other local events conducted by the hospitality and tourism students for more
than a decade and become a life coach and motivator based on his job experience and expertise.
He also conducted extension programs for the community and has been working in the Hospitality
and Tourism Industry for more than 12 years. This is the reason why membership in the Alliance of
Hospitality and Tourism Movers of the Philippines (AHToMP) is free of charge as his main
advocacy is to help.
